bmwbenz - Nice situation to be in!

I'd drive the family CLK, keep the miles low, and wait for the Coupe version to come out. More suited for a young guy like yourself.

If you get the Lexus, you'll more than likely experience buyers remorse until you get the BMW.

I'd say, if your young, start off with IS350.
So, later in life you learn too appreciate a BMW, more.

I got to drive a 10 year old Dodge Daytona when I turned 16. Plus I had to pay for it! The hubcaps kept falling off and I'd have to pull up to them and make friends open their door and pick them up. That was besides the fact that you had to add a quart of oil every 100 miles or so. But some of my fondest memories are having fun in this car! I'm only 23 now but I did things with that car that I would never do with my new 3. You are in a dilemma most 16 years dream about. ANYWHO- Take the CLK! I mean its a V8! Plus you can piss around with it and not have to worry about every little scratch or stain. Then when spring rolls around- you can pick out a new car. You may develop a newfound appreciation for MB by driving the CLK (maybe an SLK - It may be a chick's car - but only because chicks seem to drool over it) or you may be ready to get a BMW- but I would always feel like I'm playing seconds with a Lexus. just my $.02...

No wink. I'm not too thrilled at the moment. I'm frustrated and annoyed with the constant steering wheel vibration (shimmy) and the way the early buyers are being screwed in terms of features, functions, etc.

I'm in the same position as you BMWBENZ, my dad said almost the same exact thing. I test drove the 3 and the IS350 and i just really like the IS350. I dont know why. Every so often I get myself thinking and saying damn which one do i want (since i am not ordering till mid november). Honestly I beleive i will end up with the IS350. The interrior on the IS350 is much more "plush" than the 325i. NOw i just saw the new explorer and that SUV is pretty tight, honestly im in a huge dilemma like you are right now. Realistically its between the 325 and IS350. If i could just put the IS350 nav in the 325i my decision would be set! good luck on whatever you get.

Heres the situation...I'm getting my first car for my birthday and right now my father has basically let me know that I will either be getting a 325i BMW almost loaded or an IS350 loaded. The reason I am not getting the 330i is because its a lot more expensive than the 325i but does not offer much more but the IS350 is way ahead of the IS250. I care about the driving experience a lot , but I'm only going to be 16 so looks and safety matter A LOT.I really want the BMW 325i coupe but its not an option because I need a car and it won't be out by Spring next year, so I know if I get the BMW 325i i will regret it because the coupe will be so hot. The IS350 looks better in my opinion but the BMW brand name, and the interior is just so much sportier. When I think of Lexus i think of old rich people lol. But BMW is youthful and when someone says BMW its a lot more prestigious than Lexus. Also how will an IS350 drive compared to a 325i. I know the 330i outperforms the IS350 but does the 325i? Basically if you were 16 and had a choice what would you chose a 325i or an IS350. Tell me what you think, and please no flaming about spoiledness because I'm just trying to get some help and not be yelled at here..cuz this forum is awsome and I like reading here even though I never post..lol..

Thanks for your replies in advanced.
How about telling dad to keep his money and you'll buy a used honda civic. You'll earn from your dad, and gain some for your self.

I respect all cars, whether it's BMW or Lexus, but man you're picking between the two cars based on how good the NAV is? On your test drives did you actually pay attention to how well the cars drove or just how nice the NAV screen was and how nice the stiching on the seats were? Seriously, I've test drove the IS and even though the interior was decent, I was too busy actually seeing how it performed. 325 still has more soul and speaks to the driver. If I want a nice comfy chair and screen, I'll buy that stuff for my living room. Not disrespecting your choice or your decision process, but this is afterall a car, and not a home theater setup we're talking about.

I think you should get an IS350; you don't really need anyone's here for approval. This is a E90 forum, you know what answer you wil get from here. Just go with your heart desires and be happy. Either one, you will be happy.

For selfish reasons, I don't really want E90 getting too popular. I want to be special when I drive mine. . So please go buy Honda, Posche, Rolls, Bentley, or IS350. And what ever you do, don't buy a BMW. .

Your earlier rhetoric notwithstanding it would seem that the question of which car precisely to get has been rendered completely irrelevant insofar as this paragraph is representative:

”I know I am really lucky to be getting such a nice car....but don't think my parents aren't making me earn it. My grades [sic] is [sic] whats [sic] getting me my car. If I get all A's and B's and let me tell you its not that easy in a College Prep Private school, being in all honors and AP classes, then I will get a car.”

That is to say that as you appear to clearly be failing English, it would seem, based on your previous statements, that no new car [regardless of type] will from your parents be forthcoming.

We are getting a new IS for my wife this weekend.

If you love driving, go for the BMW. It is a no-brainer if you've driven them both.

If you prefer comfort, flashing lights and shiny objects, then the Camry, er, I mean the Lexus is your choice.

Why not let's stop dragging on, let's decide a car for BMWbenz0101 so we can see photos of his new car and his ladies friends sooner. Considering these days so many young talents make their first 20million dollar before age 20, he should get a330i to start with and change it to a M3 coupe next year.
