Agree..have used ALS in the past with no probs..

Also met Peter(Advan) at the last dyno day and he is as honest as they come..

The choice is yours..They are both reputable BMW performance tuners/installers.

I've known Peter for years, he is reliable and will not bullshit you. Cars are shit. They break and they take too long to fix! Peter will be the first to say it.

Hey Ian,

I can appreciate your frustration as it can be somewhat annoying when a certain modification "should" take x amount of time, but it ends up being y.

However this IS what happens when you mod cars.

Sometimes things just do not go to plan.

I would not question Peter's integrity or honesty, not even for a moment.

Moreover do not underestimate the level of knowledge that has been gleaned from working on cars such as mine and Kenny's.

With regards 135i's,

I would go so far as to say, they have developed two of the most highly modded 1 Series BMW's in all of Australia.

My build did not happen over night.

The car has spent a considerable amount of time in the workshop over the last 6 months, as such I almost consider it to be the Advan Performance "shop car".

Does that bother me, not in the least, in fact I am quite proud of that honour.

So much so the vehicle still adorns that same "Advan Motorsport" decal on the front windscreen, that was displayed during the "Hot Tuner Shootout".

FYI,

I love Melbourne, I holiday there very frequently.

The restaurants are incredible, the availability of great wine bars is superb, but do I wish I had access to the workshop services of Southern BM.

NO!

Why is this taking so many days? I was thought this would take a whole day max for the manual diffs. I couldn't go without my car for more than 1 day!

Pretty sure the pic shows the difference between the thickness of the half shafts/drive shafts of an auto versus those found in the manual (which are far stronger/thicker).

You are correct that is what you see,
There are some shops NO NAMES fitting auto diffs into the manual cars to try and save time and the hassel as the auto LSD is a simple bolt up deal.
You can see what will happen if you do this.
By the way there are no diff shops in Aust with the proper gear to tackle the work needed to mod the manual diff they all out sorce, trust me i have asked around in the trade and know things that the customer will never be told about.
You see i dont mind if you ask i will tell you what ever you want to know but you may not like the awnser.
I have been doing this crap for 40+ years and i am just about over it all, performance cars are not like your shopping car, they take time and care to sort out. Ask around why do you think BMW wont do what we do. At the end of the day you can chose to come to me or not your call, I am and old prick and dont mind ether way, if you do bring you custom here you will drink from the same mug, and sit at the same table as all my other customers whether they drive a BMW or a toyota Yaris
regards Peter / Advan

Good to hear, very interested to hear your thoughts on what it does to the car when you have some seat time in it.

Peter is great. Met him today for the first time and will see him again tomorrow.

He runs, from what I've heard and now seen, a very good operation.

The fact my detailing clients use him, is enough for me to recommend him.

Upgrade to turbos

Be best to come in to Advan and speak to Peter. I'm sure, from what i've seen, he could do something special for your exhaust etc.
