Tire question
I found some wheels for my 128i. I am going with 18x8 ET40 with a 225/40R18 all the way around. I do a good bit of highway driving, and I don't think that the 128 really needs a staggered setup I would rather have the longer tire life, and lower tire cost of the 225/40 square setup.
I am planning on moving to Victoria BC, where they rarely get snow, but winters get a lot of rain, and a few degrees above freezing. The tires I am looking at are Nitto Motivo - Good reviews so far, quite affordable, and very long tread life, also an all season tire so should be OK in the occasional snow, and supposed to be great in the wet. Continental DWS - Similar to Nitto, more expensive, not as long tread life, but has been around for a while longer, and reviews are consistently good, I have heard they are a bit softer than the Nittos as well which is not always a bad thing for a daily driver or I might check out some summer tires, but I have heard that in the cold the traction won't be as good, and on the snow they are useless. Anyone here have any recommendations, or experience with the tires listed? I bought my car with 0 tread left on the back tires, so I was planning on new tires before the summer. I currently have my winters on so I am in no rush.

The Conti DWS would be a great choice for the conditions you describe.
