DCT paddle extensions ?

has anyone fitted some stick on paddle extensions for their 135/335 dct?
looking and can only see some that need the whole steering wheel off and would rather not have the hassle.

cheers

Literally takes 5 minutes to take the wheel off, very easy to do.

Don't you need to take the whole thing apart also?

From experience, the Paddles are attached to the control unit behind the wheel and you can not just stick some on there. You have to remove the wheel, Remove the paddles screws then from the harness and go from there. It is honestly the easiest thing ever lol

While the steering wheel does come off in 5 minutes, you don't have to remove it to remove the paddles. You pop the airbag out (10 seconds with the right tool) and remove two screws to release the paddles. I tried E9X M3 DCT paddles on mine and it was a no-go. I'd also love some sort of bigger paddle. I hate how far in they are.

Yep. Unfortunately, even if the other members convinced you to remove the wheel or airbag it wouldn't matter. None of the replacement ones work for our steering wheels for some reason.

someone mod the stock M3 DCT paddles to work with LCI then you can replace the paddles itself on the M3 DCT unit

Apologies for the dopey question, but why would you want to extend the paddles? Aren't they just perfect the way they aren't?

Ive seen them extended on Vag cars just means there is a long paddle to click not so they move out further from the centre of the wheel so they extend further round if that makes sense

Yeah. Mainly because you need the fingers of an NBA player to comfortably reach the paddles the way they are stock from BMW.

Someone should be able to 3D print "clip/slip on" attachments that use the existing paddles. I would 100% be all over these.

Personally, I never use the paddles. I do always drive in the manual mode though, with the sport button pressed, but use the gear shift selector to shift gears. Feels more natural to me. Like the good ol' days... but BETTER! Love me some DCT!
