Sport package absolutely - the iPod/USB integration probably - Xenons depends on how much night driving you do - everything else not necessarily worth it.
If I were putting a 128i together, it's be Crimson Red, Taupe Leatherette, standard interior trim, Sport Package, iPod/USB, Xenons. |

I ordered my 128 today with Sport, Premium, Cold weather, Xenons and the iPod/USB adapter. The 135's power was a huge draw, but being able to comfortably equip the 128 felt like the right choice.

Walsh - I also tried to keep my options under control:
SGM (cause I love it) Walnut (cause it looks good with the Taupe leatherette) Sport pkg. (for the seats and the suspension/tires) Auto w/step paddles (1 hour commute in traffic) Xenons (for these 51 year old eyes at night) This kept it under $34k and I got what I wanted (needed) |

Welcome Walsh. In Australia, the 128i is badged a 125i. I've gone with the following:

I agree with Hugo that the sports pack is a must. The car already comes with a good amount of goodies so I would see this as a great value.
If I tried to keep the cost down, I would go with Crimson red, black 'ette, standard trim, manual tranny and sports pack. Voila, you have a great car for under $30K (not including taxes).

God I really can't get my head around the sport package being a neccesity. I know I've brought that up before..,maybe a bit off topic, but I can't justify the cost for normal everyday driving

i ordered a 128i with black sapphire, sports package, xenons, and heated seats.
i was orginally going to go for AW, but once i saw the black sapphire i had to have it. sport package is a must IMO, for the suspension and seats... makes a world of a difference. |

I have had a chance to drive non sports and sports pack equipped cars and I noticed a difference. It is certainly not a necessity, however, if you are already spending $28,600 for a 128 and you care about the BMW sport suspension feel and sports seats, the $1,200 is probably well spent. While the regular seats are good, I think the sports seats are awesome. That and the suspension alone are worth it, but you also get the updated rims/tires and shadowline trim. Definitely a winner for me.

Oh, and if I may ask a simple "maintenance" question, with different size tires front/rear, how would tire rotations work? thanks |

I wanted to keep it simple.
Non-Metallic Jet Black Paint Sports Package Steptronic Paddle Shifters Rear Bike Mount Prep (for if I want to get the rear bumper bike rack, spend the $75 now rather than $300 later) Priced at 32,000 |
