So the film is on!
I did the whole front bumper, the headlights, down the rear behind each wheel (ie usually where mud guards go) , under the door handles and also rear the loading area is on the rear bumper. The film looks great! You cant even see it.. My gf goes 'oh theres the film there I can see it!' and I go 'no, theres no film there, look'! She couldnt even see it and white is apparently the most revealing color for paint films. I think it looks great and I feel alot more confident behind trucks and stuff.. I did not get the bonnet done as I feel the headlights/bumper cop 95% of the flack... Looks great, HIGHLY recommended. Total cost inc gst $400 plus $15 for some plexus plastic cleaner/protector for the film No point post photos, you cant see it. Anyone is welcome to come take a squizz if they like! |

im deff interested in getting this done when my car arrives, especially since i may be driving on a few dodgy highways quite often...
Just a few qs... do the ozi cozi guys come to your place and install it? did you end up getting that bmw film? or did they do a custom? Do you know how much it would have cost with the bonnet? |

So, the film is 3M. I went to Ozicozi but they can come to you... The install was 100% custom
Bonnet would have meant the price goes to $550, and it covers about 20% of the bonnet. Ozicozi did the film Alex |

$415 sounds good for some protection. How long did it take to apply the film?
I might get it done to the car once it arrives but have them come out to me. Brookvale is a little far for someone living in the western suburbs.

Unfortunately given my open air garage, cats not uncommonly scratch my car. I am looking for a new house though!

Has anybody had this film put on in S.E. Qld or northern NSW? I've had a quote for over $1000 from the local Brisbane rep who installs the Ozicozi film. This sounds much more expensive that what's been quoted above. I'd like to get this done as soon as my car turns up. Cheers.

"Price* $1295.00 Street Package Price* $1895.00 Performance Package Price* $2295.00 Competition Package" Though as a BMW club member with a 15% discount it comes to ~$1100 for the cheapest package (bumper, front of bonnet etc). I'd try fitting it myself if it wasn't too hard & was significantly cheaper. I think I've seen some 135 kits advertised on some US sites. I'll do some more searching.

I'd be interested to hear what you find out, Tim. The film was something I've considered, but if I can get a respray for $500 that might just be the go every couple of years if it got bad on the front.

Thanks for the pricing TimMc. I believe I saw a protection film kit for the 135i on the SouthernBM site here: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...subcat1=133774
It says US $89 for the bumper only. |

"Clear Protective Film Virtually invisible covering protects your BMW's brilliant color while helping to guard against abrasions. Will not harm paint, yellow, fade, crack, or peel. " Hood, mirror, fogs & bumper for US$228. Sounds good! I might get this & try to fit myself...
