Hehe, that's the thing isn't it, strokes for folks!

I've never been a Ferrari guy, I'd rather a Lambo. But ultimately I'd rather have a GT2 RS than either

I haven't driven too many "exotic" cars, but the favourite would have to be the GT3.
A mate threw me the keys about a month ago, and after I got over the initial 'you crash it you own it' nerves, it was a beast to drive. This was a touring model, so no cage and comfortable seats so was damn comfortable on the road. Not sure I could live with a car that low for everyday driving though, rubbed everywhere.
The gearbox shift is so slick and I couldn't believe how easy it was to drive. Whilst the GTR would be faster, there is no way I would get one over a nice GT3. I'll take mine without the stickers though, thanks.
This is the one I drove (I'm sure MickyD can pick whose!).

When you drove your 911 Turbo and your GTR, what was it about the GTR that set it above the Porsche for you?

Why a 911 Turbo over a GTR? One's always been the "daddy" as far as everyday supercars go. The 911 turbo competes with Ferrari's, the GTR competes with Porsches and very well I might add

I never grew up wanting to own a GTR (and I grew up when they were winning everything at Bathurst). As fast as the GTR is, its clinical and my left leg and arm work well enough to shift gears.

The R35 is a great car, practical and fast to boot. It's not a 911 though, of the two I prefer the 911 as its a car I'd always wanted. The GTR to me is just a car. But that's the beauty, it makes a market.
Nah, I've never driven on a GT3 before but theres a fellow member here who has one and i'm convinced they're an absolute weapon. Im sure if you're going to get a GT3 you probably have another car for DD so comfort wouldn't be something thats essential. But I guess the 911 Turbo will always be more desirable than the GTR - I still think its a wankers car but i'm going ahead with it.... I only really appreciated the car after I've driven on cars around the same price bracket.... you'll understand how much of a leap it is above anything else.

My neighbours got one...(Theres a Granturismo, F430S and DBS Volante here, - will take some pics when I have time.) I think its the perfect car to drive on the weekends around town. They are going for $160k and they sound amazing - like a toned down Fezza!

My 911 Turbo? haha I wish. I've only driven on a 997.1 and not even a S.... but they were pretty good not amazing tho. The reason i'll choose a GTR over the Turbo is down to value for money and affordability. I would say performance but I dont think I have near the capabilities to take either of them to the limit anyway.

Fair enough, the R35 is an awesome rig. Don't write off the 911 turbo until you've owned one. There's a reason it's most people's ultimate street car!

GTR isn't a wankers car, they are great pieces of kit.

Enjoy it when you get it, you'll love it no doubt

993 Turbo would be my pick - hell it cost more than a 996 Turbo but what a gorgeous car. Last of air-cooled models so something for you to brag about. I just think modern Turbos are "less-desireable" compared to the older ones.

Shit old cars now the 993. They looked better on the outside but interior and ergonomics ... shit. There's no stopping the march of technology. Water cooled 911s rule the Earth!

Yeah, with most porsches the interior is shit... modern or old. Infact I think the 135i interior feels like a 1980's cottage compared to my C-Class. The march of technology.... can't stop thinking one day every car will be as quick as a GTR.

My workmate has one of this - can't remember if its a 964 or a 993.

He was saying the last air cooled rear wheel drive 911 turbo? and only like 3 in Australia?

Parked next to my other colleagues CL63...

Yeah I think is a 964, I also don't know why you would want to buy a CL63 for that amount of money I can think of other cars to buy...

The seat is very wanky though! dynamic bucket seat lol.

I'll take a continental or db9 for that money! Does the dynamic bucket seat thingy have ten million function massage functions? I think the M5 seat bolsters are still wicked.... Shame they don't have it for any other M cars now.

Yeah it does have a million mode for massages

I see it as a million things in your seat that could potentially break.... though he is probably going to swap the car before that happens...
