wtb 135 oem hood
I'm looking for an OEM hood for my 08 135 which was involved in a minor front end accident. Would prefer it to be silver so I don't have to have it painted and blended.
Anyone have any leads on such a part? Thanks! |

wow. Completely forgot about this thread. Sorry guys.
Price from my local dealer is $800 primed and ready for paint. Then of course I've gotta get it painted which is going to be even more $$$. I figured I could save quite a bit if I can find one all ready painted silver. It's beginning to be a more difficult challenge than I thought. Edit: Have been relentlessly checking ebay and the likes and all I can find are aftermarket hoods. I'd like to keep this car stock. |

What about a carbon fiber OEM style hood?
Seibon makes one, same exact style as OEM, not perfect but the fit is at least 95%. However, the weight savings for our porky 1 series aren't bad at all, especially in our heavy nose. They retail for about the same as the OEM BMW hood, but you can find them significantly cheaper: http://www.ebay.com/itm/08-09-BMW-1-...-/261009811581 Depending on how modded your car is, you may even want to leave it unpainted to show off the carbon (has a glossy, UV-shielding coating). But still, $620 plus free shipping is a good bargain for what I would consider an upgrade from a $800 OEM hood, though I don't know if the free shipping from that particular ebay sale is good for canada. Plus, the canook dollar is worth more than USD now (right? I thought it was). (Non-ebay buy link from Vivid Racing - I got my GTR style seibon hood from them through the forum and they were awesome).

I'm trying to stay away from CF/aftermarket hoods for re-sale purposes down the road and I just prefer keeping my cars as stock as possible, thus I am seeking ONLY factory OEM hood. Sorry to you all who offered aftermarket stuff. Appreciate it though.
and the hunt continues! This is fun |

What shade of silver are you?
I'd call up some junkyards and see if they have anything. Unfortunately it may be hard to come across another hood right away, I'd recommend buying a cheap CF one and not painting it but rather keep it until a silver one comes on the market. Sorry to hear about the accident though! |
