Is suspension on 128i w/Msport same as stock 135i?

I know that the stock 128i sits higher. But, does the 128i with M sport suspension lower it to same as stock 135i specs?

Trying to gauge new wheel/tire mods.

The Msport suspension which comes standard on all 135's is the same as the optional Msport suspension available on the 128i. So yes, except for the difference that wheels and tires might make.

Are you sure about this? 135's come with M-Sport suspension as standard equipment without adding the M-Sport package? I think you may have Sport suspension confused with M-Sport, although it may just be the name, as the M-Sport package wasn't available until the last few years of the 1-series as I recall. Our 2011 was ordered with the M-Sport package and that included the M-Sport suspension, but there was also a Sport suspension that was available without the M-Sport package.

In any event, I changed out the wheels and tires, which on our car were 17", for 18x8 and 18x9 CSL-style wheels and Continental DW tires. Big positive difference in ride and handling, not to mention appearance.

i am pretty sure that you could get an early year 135i withOUT the M Sport package. It was not until a few model years later that BMW made the M Sport package stock on all 135i's. That being said, for later years, yes the 128i with OPTIONAL MSport suspension sits the same as the stock 135i (save for differences in wheels and tire sizes). On early model 135i, you could get it with the lesser "sport" suspension.

Some early 2009s and 2008 had Sport package, which is the Msport but minus a couple cosmetic things, some ///M badges etc.

M-sport 128i has same suspension as the stock 135i.

Yes, I'm sure. I had an '08 135i with sport pkg and now have an '11 135i with Msport pkg and they both came with the same Msport suspension. All 135's came with this one and only suspension. Sometimes it was called "Msport" and sometimes it was called just "sport". Why, I don't know, but it only confused people. Even the dealers, parts people and sales people were confused. The only different BMW suspension you can get for the 135i is the BMW Performance suspension.

The Msport pkg on the 135i adds the 261 wheels, instead of the standard 264 wheels, anthracite headliner, a couple of ///M's on the door sills and glacier silver aluminum trim. It also comes with sports seats and the ///M steering wheel, but so did my '08 with just the sport pkg.

The window sticker of my '08 says that shadowline trim was also part of my sport pkg and even though I also have the shadowline trim on my '11, it doesn't list it at all on my sticker. Just trying to show that there's no hard and fast rule as to how they list items OR what they call them. Also, on my '11 Msport 135i the window sticker list my suspension as "Sport suspension" for $875, but again, on my '08 sport 135i they don't list the suspension at all. Why? I don't know. Yes, I still have both of my window stickers.

I'm pretty sure that the Msport pkg was offered from the beginning on the '08 135i.

Thanks for the replies, everyone!

I think the wheel/tire mod I'm going to go for is: VMR 710s, 18" in hyper silver, wrapped in Hankook Ventus 225 front, 245 rear. This should fill the wheel wells in a 128i with M sport suspension fairly nicely. I really just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to end up with everything sitting too high w/huge gaps in the wheel wells.

Grateful to have 1Addicts board as a resource!

I put 255s on the rear of our 128i M-Sport - they fit just fine and look great. See attached photo.
