the 1er looks great as is....no need to make it look weird and aftermarket. The 1M bits look fine on the 1M because it's more out of functionality to fit the wider fenders. They looks completely dysfunctional on non-widened 1ers, IMO.
Uh oh. Don't tell the E36 guys that. I don't even remember the last time I saw an E36 without an M3 bumper.

It's painted and on the car right now. Just waiting to get the exhaust buttoned up and get the diffusor on. I double checked and it does NOT fit with the stock exhaust. It's off by a few inches. Once it's day light I will snag a picture of it right now and post it up.

So can you run a quad exhaust behind this new bumper like the 1Ms exhaust is routed?

If you want to run a custom quad like the 1M's, you would have to do some fabricating around the charcoal canister filter, the battery and a few plastic surroundings.

You can put 1M imitation front bumper, imitation rear bumper, and 1m fenders on your 128 or 135 all day long and 1Addicts thinks its the best looking thing since sliced bread but the second you put an ///M badge on the trunk everyone is beside themselves with rage.

I just don't get it.

I think it's different to put REAL 1M parts on your 128/135i than it is replicas. I don't understand the fad with 1M look bumpers. They just look awkward and out of proportion.

The M badge just looks sad. Regardless if you have M sport or not. Then again you can always convert a 120i into a 1M rep and put a M badge on the back. I've seen it on Instagram a few times. I think it would be a little awkward telling people it's not a 1M but a 135i... Can't imagine telling people it's a 120i underneath.

Edit: Looked up that car and it was a 118d... https://instagram.com/wide_f_ck/

As for the people hating on the replica stuff. This is a thread about the progression of the build. If you don't like it, just keep your comments to yourself. It's not constructive at all.

^what he said. But a 128i with a 1M bumper and 16" wheels does look awkward hahaha. There is a guy at my old school that was rockin that setup. It just looked silly.

Indeed it is. Almost would be fun to do if they had the 118d in the US. Great looks / great fuel economy. But I would prefer to have a 135i underneath and unfortunately that guy is sporting the M badge on the back.
