Don't expect much.

My guess it will be relegated to simple things like shift kits, shift knobs, and other accent pieces.

Perhaps an exhaust and intake for the 128i but probably not much else for the 135i.

"Beginning with the 3-series and Z4, BMW is offering a host of components, from brake upgrades to engine kits, that will boost performance and not cause owners to fear a trip to the dealer for service. Some of the parts include carbon fiber and aluminum strut braces, 3.07:1 performance diffs, lowering kits, performance exhausts and a engine package for three-liter models that includes new camshafts and a modified ECU that boosts output to 235 HP and 222 lb.-ft. or torque.

All of the wonderful tidbits can be procured after the jump, and we'd suspect good things to come from the Bimmer boys when they release packages designed for the 335i and the upcoming 135i."

I am expecting the price tags on these parts to be quite high.

Yeah, they are basically releasing e46 ZHP bits for non ZHP's...

While I think its a great idea, I'm not so sure about starting with a model that is allready "used." I think it will be hard to get non-ZHP owners into BMW to shop for ZHP bits. Most "enthusiast" buyers probably allready bought a ZHP. Uh, like myself...

I agree, they should have started with the E9X.

All of the things listed in the quotes are strictly for E46 non-M models. They still haven't released anything for the 1-series and what they have released for the E9x's are purely bolt on with no inkling of engine modifications.

ZHP = The optional Performance Pkg that was offered on the E46.

In January 2003, at the Los Angeles International Auto Show, BMW of North America introduced the 330i Performance Package, order code ZHP. This was a trim level upgrade that included engine modifications for an increase of 10 hp (7 kW) and 8 ft·lbf (11 N·m) of torque and a redline increase to 6,800 rpm (from 6,500 in the regular 330i). The ZHP option also provided a 6-speed short-throw manual transmission, a higher final drive ratio and speed limiter setting, a suspension tuned for better handling, and various BMW M exterior trim elements as well as an interior similar to that of the M3.
Specific details on the order package include:
- Sport suspension
- Double Spoke (Styling 135M) cast alloy wheels, 18 x 8.0 front, 18 x 8.5 rear;,225/40R-18 front, 255/35R-18 rear performance tires
- M Aerodynamic package
- Matte stainless steel, 35 mm dual exhaust pipes
- High-gloss shadowline trim
- 8-way power front sport seats with 2-way manual headrests and thigh support; 3-driver memory for exterior mirror and seat positions; automatic tilt-down of passenger’s side-view mirror when vehicle is shifted into reverse gear
- Alcantara/cloth upholstery
- Anthracite interior headliner
- M 3-spoke Alcantara-wrapped multi-function sport steering wheel with fingertip cruise, audio and accessory phone controls
- Aluminum “black cube” interior trim
- Tachometer with 300 rpm-higher redline and red needle
- Short, sport gearshift lever
- 3.07 gears in rear differential
- .5 degrees camber all around
- No 128 mph (206 km/h) governor (155 mph top speed).
The ZHP package was available on mid-2003 330i sedans, all 2004-2005 330i sedans, and mid 2004-2005 330Ci coupes & convertibles. It has become a highly sought-after model due to its unique modifications. Car and Driver magazine track-tested the car, which returned a 0-60 mph time of 5.6 seconds and passed through the 1/4 mile in 14.2 seconds.

Night and day between the interior of my 01 330ci and my 05 M3.

There was a guy on bimmerfest screen name Doughboy I think that WAS able to get his ca to custom order the alcantera headliner for his 03 330ci.

It can be done you just need a ca that can pull strings.

I was actaully able to do the same thing with the electric sunshade on on 01 330ci before it was available to order in NA.

BMW ECU TUNE???

My guess is that they will have a BMW chip upgrade that will be about a little more than half of the power of a ProCede because they want to still keep it conservative due to warranty issues. Sounds good though, i would go for it:thumbup:

x2, and while my car feels fast, it doesnt feel 14.2 in the 1/4 fast. I might have to take her to test and tune to try that out, one of the "bugs" with the ZHP is its computer programing on some cars has hindered performance. Its an easy, warranty, fix though...

On the flip side I've kinda thought I had that bug because I get better fuel economy than other ZHP drivers...
