BMW Dealer Tire Policies

My dealer refuses to mount regular tires on my 135i. Is this a BMW policy or a quirk of my dealer?

Quite likely BMW policy. They won't let a CPO go out the door without runflats, and charge lessees if they aren't on the car when turned in, regardless of tire condition. They appear to be quite committed to RFTs, except for their M cars.

It would have been a factor (negative) for me in buying one, except that I knew I'd soon get an extra set of wheels, with dedicated winter/summer tires, anyway.

Really depends on the dealer. The vast majority though won't swap out the runflats and when I asked about it, my dealer refused to do it. However, I know a few people who took their cars to their dealer to install their Michelin PSS, so I know some will, but most won't.

Can BMW void your warranty for switching to regular tires?

If it's related to the use of non run-flats during the warranty period, they probably can.
