Newbie tire question: 255/35/19 & 275/35/19 on stock wheels?
Hello everyone, the dealer told me the original PS2 on my VO 1M are quite worn out, and I would like to put a set of PSS on.
I've done a couple of searches, seems that those have a potential to rub in the front but can be solved with revised wheel liners. And the general consensus is that the PSS has a better ride than the PS2. As I was just ordering those tires from Tirerack, the sales person highly doubts they would fit, and kept advising against going 255/35/19 & 275/35/19. Just wanna double check with you guys that this 10mm wider front & rear would fit on original wheels. Also if it doesn't make much of a difference should I just stick with stock size? Thanks |

It shouldn't be a problem on your OEM 19" rims.
I've even had 265/35/18 front and 285/30/18 rear on Apex rims without any issues.

PSS
On my second set of those exact sizes and purchased from Tirerack too.
No rubbing. No worries.

Thanks for the quick replies guys, glad I made the right move. Now I'm just patiently waiting for Tirerack to ship them out, since these sizes are backordered now.

Problem resolved when I had the fender liner replaced--covered by BMW recall program. I now run a 265/35/18 square setup (Hankook RS3) for track and the OEM wheels and tire size (Michelin Pilot SS) for regular use.
