Push Button engine start button trim color?
I have seen the 1 series M coupe custom orange push button start trim, and was thinking about coloring the trim on my 135i. Anyone do this to there 128i/135i? I was thinking of coloring it in black.

Have you seen this thread (I presume perhaps): http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=688421
While the OP doesn't reccomend painting it, I don't see why you couldn't give it a shot...let us know how it goes -

OP must want you to buy the ones he's selling rather than paint. I popped mine off and painted it red. No harm in doing so. No reason to not recommend painting it.

Thanks Gimlet. I have popped those pieces back off and prepping them for my cartoon vinyl wrap. More to come on that.

Here is a friend's car. He used some yellow foil for the interior bits. And some yellow/bronze paint for the speedo rings. The new speedo/tach needles he bought off ebay.de

Wow, bright! I like the idea of painting the rings around the speedometer. I may have to do mine in red.

It is standard on ECE (euro spec) cars. US and Canadian cars do not get it. But you could order it from Schmiedermann or ECS or the like. I think this is the part number... 51 45 6982670 its number 12 is this diagram... http://bmwetk.info/parts-catalog/prd...607/51/51_6713

i have a bottle of touch up paint so i decided to paint mine the same color as my car. brushed the paint on last night. did about 3 coats of it. then a couple coats of clear coat that comes with the paint. gonna go home and buff it today and try to put it on and maybe get some pics up here. i'll post the one pic i have from my phone last night before the second clear coat. doesn't look as bad as i thought it would. i remember painting matchbox cars when i was little and they looked horrible. i think it will look good once in the car.
