2009 Toronto Autoshow

Here are some pictures from the autoshow here in Toronto; it isn't much compared to what we've seen, but I guess I might as well just post them. I loved their nicely tii'ed 135i cab.

Wow, I am surprised how old the E60 looks besides the F01 and the new E89. Even the E90 looks fresher.

Was at the show today. Some thoughts, the 7 series is nice but it's gonna have a tough time figting the current holder which is the S-class Mercs. It's got some really innovative gadgets tho

The new Z4 looks great, love the new interface. Definately I think will sell well regardless of recession. The seats make you feel like you are really low to the ground but that isn't the case. Once you sit in it, you will understand what I'm talking about.

The 1 series performance bodykit was very nice, damn it. I really don't want to go the CF route for my sedona red but.....after seeing it in the flesh...... I don't know anymore!

Overall show, I think the companies that brought out the most to the show would be: Merc, Audi, Lexus, Mitsubishi and Mazda. The big detriot 3 showed everything they could but, nothing truly amazing stood out for the attendance there.

That's definitely true; the current S is amazing, but I went through the configurator BMW has put up on bmw.ca for the 7er, and generally the high-tech gadgets on the 7er are cheaper, not too mention there is more available. I also like the look of the interior of the 7 better than the S, but that's just personal opinion.

My dad is considering getting one next year to replace his E-sedan; he doesn't like the "bloated" feeling the Merc has and wants to go back to BMW's "on-rails" driving feel.

Haha, ya, my dad has a 2009 E-class AvantGarde and I honestly don't like the feel of it on the road. It's one heck of a luxury car tho. My only thing with it is that I'm a driver, and all that luxury I don't need yet. I'm still young! Plus the E does feel weighted down and the brake pedal is placed way too high for my liking. I'm sure a E63 will offer driver enthusiast what they need in both luxury and power.

I'm a S fan, I'd take a S, better still, a CL than the new 7series. Totally personal opinion of course.

I'd honestly would suggest a M5 or a S5 if your dad wants a nice interior saloon with a mean engine

I think the new 7 looks ugly, I think the facelifted 7 that just finished was much better looking

I think the 7 Series pics in this thread are very flattering. I was not a big fan of either of the 7 Series cars present at the Autoshow. In person they look to me to be very clunky and the kidney grilles are way, way too big with some waffle-iron looking crossbar action.

Any pics of that red 1er in the background? The rear angle shots looks different than the current 128i.

I live in North Jersey where the BMW Corp headquarters is. I saw the new 7 series there pullin out of the lot. (I went to the garage they have to catch glimpses of the 1er a few months before they were released ahhh memories) The new 7 series in person is gorgeous.
