Phillip Island track day, Monday 7th October (Maserati Club)

Exciting and scenic 4.5km circuit.
More predictable weather.
Reputation for well-organised events.
Hopefully less congested than weekend events.
Less intimidating than some other automobile clubs (tighter regulations).
Convenience of online registration.
Early bird entry fees before 20th September.

http://www.maserati.org.au/Default.a...e=EventDetails

A number of 1ers have already committed to this.
Two-car garages can be accessed for $180 on the day.

Definitely interested. Need to get below 2mins on my road tyres to achieve my new years resolution! Last time did a 2:00:84. Have a friend with a new Opel Astra OPC who wants to get out there also. Not sure about the non-timed morning session, but would hope that a weekday run will mean less participants and more tracktime.

MX-5/AROCA down at PI on 17th November too.

At this stage, we believe there will be 70 participants in four groups. As you say Walnut, it may be due to the Monday scheduling. This should provide us with uninterrupted lapping at one of the two premier circuits in Australia.

The morning session and tight regulations will suit drivers wishing to test recent upgrades without pressure; timing or not, everyone can bring their own unofficial devices/technologies.

So far, there are five 1ers confirmed

Looks like I am in (130i), and two friends also (MX-5 turbo, Opel Astra OPC), and we should be at the AROCA PI event too. Looking forward to meeting you guys.

Don't think it's out yet. You can check it out over at the forum when it is available (usually 4 weeks prior ? - just guessing)

Nice chatting with you James. It will be an awesome day on oct 7 with the 8 of us having a blast around PI. Hopefully more 1addicts/e9x will start joining in the near future for some fun and learning

Hope everyone is prepped. Gathering from the silence here, all indications are that you are loaded with undeclared upgrades

For those who may be concerned about confirmation, I have contacted the Maserati Club secretary. There is no formal confirmation forwarded to participants; acceptance occurs with payment. If in doubt, perhaps consider bringing cash to avoid disappointment.

Once again, they are expecting 50-60 entries. This is a circuit which accommodates 150+ on busy track days, so I interpret this to mean unlimited access ie consider reserve fuel, etc. Groupings are based upon submitted lap times, but there will be flexibility (re-allocation) throughout the day.

Phillip Island Circuit gates open 0700 as usual, but there is unlikely to be competition for garage access ($180 per double).

Weather forecast is 12-19oC with a possible shower.

Entries are due by 1700 today, so I suspect not.

Thanks Jeff for the photos and for blocking God - someone needed to slow Him down
Overall, we were fortunate with such ideal conditions re weather-efficiency-participants/vehicles.
