used Procede

I bought a used Procede on the 1addicts forum. I do not have it yet but I was told that it will work 100% with my car and that it includes everything. Now I started wondering if it required an additional license and the seller does not know. Can anyone please tell me what I need? I think it was a Procede 4 that was updated to Procede 5 and has updated harness. That is all I know. I don't want to go through the time and effort of installing it to find out that something isn't working, or something blows up.

thanks
d

If it was upgraded to v5 it is VIN locked. You have to mail it into Vishnu or follow a series of steps to unlock it(not complicated). Either way, you have to pay, IF you want to use it as V5. As V4 it will work just fine, but won't have the latest maps or features.

lols ull be fine even if it's a locked one; it just won't work

you really should know which version you have before installing because they have different maps for pre-2011 and post-2011 harnesses; contact vishnu they are pretty responsive via phone

Seriously? What is your issue man. The question had nothing to do with which tune he should buy. Please back up your purely opinion based posts with relevant information. You have 20 posts and have yet to demonstrate you have any knowledge whatsoever.

OP: The tune with not blow up your car don't worry. Like someone said you can run it as V4 until you unlock it. I would contact Vishnu, the easiest and quickest way is to just call. Robert is great and he will help you out.

Clearly your running the proceed..Let me guess your one of those guys, what I have is the best and that's final. The proceed is a good unit i'm not knocking it,but if he's going to have issues with it better of selling it for what he paid for it and buy a jb4 for half the cost..I have yest to see a vid or someone smoke a tuned jb4 car yet.I' not here to argue with you or anyone on this forms it's a place to post comments.

I had a JB4, and it is a good tune. I am not a fanboy I respect both Shiv and Terry. I don't respect people like you who make ridiculous posts that are off topic and have no backing. Once again, he did not ask which tune he should get, but rather how to deal with an issue he has. I will meet up with anyone who wants to do some friendly runs if you want to see JB4 vs V5. I chose the V5 for various reasons that I would be happy to discuss with you somewhere else. If anything you sound like a JB4 fanboy.

Sounds like I was "burnt" a little. Point is that I bought something used that may turn out to be better off to buy new (AGAIN!) much like when I bought a muffler delete that turned out to be a musical instrument! I had to have a tube welded in to reduce the french horn affect. If I have to send this in and pay $150 I would rather just buy new. If this is the case, I am sending this back to the seller.
thanks for input. Except for the tuner war stuff. I've seen plenty of that and I decided to go Procede.
