Doing it on an n54 in the near future. I bought a new acc belt but not the pulleys. 45K mi, and the leak is very slight don’t see any on belt or pulleys. Anyone want to comment?
Nice and very useful little tool

Does BWM design these little problems into their engines to keep mechanics busy? It would seem so, since every engine built in the last 20 or more years has this problem!
I used that same kit it's perfect.

I don't think they engineer the problems, that would be a massive lawsuit and hard to balance between "small issue our mechanics can fix" and "oh **** all the cars are having catastrophic engine failure" lol. But I do think they certainly over complicate things!

That kit does not have the O rings for the oil cooler. Get those too.https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...iABEgKaffD_BwE

Here's a pretty good video on how to do this job:

The big difference the guy loosened the intake manifold to get at the bolt. He also used an 8mm gear wrench to get the other two.

Did you remove the FAN SHROUD to get at the oil cooler?

Finally, this is the only video for the OFHG on a 135i. The car has an N54 engine, but that doesn't make any difference doing the repair. This 135i is a mess having been worked on by a bunch of knuckle heads, but the car has survived the abuse to live to 84K miles!

The guy doing the repair is a little long winded, but he is a thoughtful mechanic taking his time to do the repair. The owner was too cheap to buy both gaskets, so the wrench has to seal one side with Ultra Gray! I wonder how well or long that'll work?

BTW, I check with my local dealer about the price to do this job, $1,200! Let me lay down and contemplate that enormous sum!

I did mine around 6-7 months ago but now I have to do the valve cover gasket...oil smell coming in from the vents not bad... but enough where I know what's going on...
