New 1M :: Playing DVD in Motion :: Not Working

Just an FYI, I tried having my car Recoded for playing DVD's while moving at the Saturday meet in Miami and it did not work.

My car was August/Early Sept Build date, the 3 other 1M's that were created/delivered earlier in the year had no issues in making the code work.

Anyone else have this issue on later production 1M's?

May build date and I used the cheater DVD in motion disc to do it, but worked with no problems at all. Now I just need to find a situation where I want to watch a DVD in my car, all trips should be done in other vehicles given the opportunity.

+1. I was too impatient waiting for the cable (I want to code some other things later), so I got the DVD...and worked like a charm! I know that when you're coding on the 1M you will need to make a couple of changes. Do a search for threads started by me (v1k0d3n) and you'll find where I posted a thread that contains all the necessary codes. A couple of other people chimed in to confirm as well. You need them all/both to work properly...otherwise it won't work. Good luck!

btw...don't think you're build date is going to have much impact here. i just don't think it was done properly. not 100% sure...but let's say 90% sure.

I heard they have great customer service, so just contact dvdinmotion. Now that I have free Nav, I need to get this.

Yeah, there were some of us that had nav as n/c on our build sheets all along. A few of us actually got it. Weird, since I didn't get conv. I think another member didn't even get prem.

Mines Re-Coded and I have had no issues playing in motion are you sure they coded it out correctly?

It definitely has to do something with the build date/software... I was there with him. My car was done in 5 minutes. (tsup drace!)

And FLEX is right he was there and all the other 1M's with earlier build dates were done in few minutes.

I am currently waiting for my 1m coupe, and i have a few questions wrt extras i have added in. order doc says Area code 2 for dvd. does this mean i can play dvds? i have sat/nav.

Mines a September build date, I also used the DVD in motion disc with no problems.

I also got a nice perk but no idea bout what you guys are talking about....
Is that mean you can play DVD is and such... And BMW apps?

Thank you

DVD in motion means you can play DVDs while the car is moving. From the factory it comes with a restriction, such that the moment you go over 3 km/h the DVD shuts off.

Had mine coded and works like a charm.

If you are referring to BMW Apps, it makes no difference if you have it or not, the feature is locked from the factory. Once unlocked, DVD in Motion will work regardless if you opted for Apps or not.

I just pick up my 2012 E88 in early April with the Idrive option. just looking for way to unloack the dvd in motion. came across with dvdinmotion dvd. but just scare it will mess up the system has any try it any advise?

I just got the email back at first it work like a charm.
But after few hours when I start my car it's not playing any DVD. Still trying to find out why.
