Cobb or MDH?

I have been active over on the 3series board as I had a 335i. Got rid of it. Missed the fun. I'm about to pull the trigger on a 135i convertible.

I had a Cobb accessport on the 335. I loved it. It was easy. It turned the car into a rocket ship. When I returned to the 3series forum after about a years absence most people were recommending something called MDH or MHD...something like that. They claimed it was as user friendly an got similar results compared to Cobb at half the price.

Anyone here have any opinions, insight or other suggestions? The 135i convertible I'm looking at is a 2008 so I assume N54 engine. Thanks guys.

I was a big Cobb fanboi for years in the Mazdaspeed community, tuned my own as well as many many others over the years. I think Cobb has put themselves into a bit of a hard place recently and I wouldn't, couldn't recommend the AccessPort for tuning at this point.

I've been playing with MHD and frankly it's hitting the sweet spot for things the AP never did- Android based, modular pricing, good tuning software should you wish to tune yourself, great pro-tuner selection if you don't. Even if you choose to go all in it cost's under half of an AP. You can run in on any android device you want- it locks to your android account and your car's VIN, so keep it on your phone and your tablet if you want, or get a new phone with no problems.

By all accounts the OTS maps from Wedge are supposed to be pretty good too- better than Cobb's.
