I think you did just fine. If it would be an easy job you could also do the ashtray area but since it seems to be a hell of a job can be delayed or left as is. I think this is a very convincing alternative to paint those surfaces in piano black (or VO etc.) or to cover them with additional alcantara.

Also a fan of both Ying-Yang and less is more philosophies No need to overdecorate a 1M. We better be looking straight ahaid while driving it instead of admiring the design elements anyway. For that kind of passing time we always have the Z4 or TTs with gorgeous interiors.
