Yeah, he gets it! Feel exactly the same and mine is even simpler with no NAV and no idrive! : )
Best part of the 1er was no Navi !!

Simple. Driver focused.

I still lust after the 1M, if only the were manufactured in 2012/13 when i was in a better spot to do something about getting one. Needless to say there are only 2 vehicles on the road that make me take a deep gasp when ever I see one on the road; BMW 1M & Porsche GT4. My two unicorns.

Meh. Not a fan of this guy regardless how good he thinks the 1M is. His reviews are similar from car to car. I can't watch the guy talk either...not sure what it is, I think his tongue is too big for his mouth or something.

for those that don't like the 1M , or can't find one ..

here is the M2 review ...

While the M2 is a great car.. like the reviewer , hands down I prefer the 1M, beginning with the manual seats, and also the hydraulic steering feel is

I keep hoping that BMW will find the magic again for the M2 in a CSL/GTS.. but it will have to have a manual to have a chance for me.
Hmmm it might be one of the greatest but I don't see it anywhere near the top of the "shelf list"
Does anyone feel the e46csl or e30m3 evo3 a fair. Comp to the bangle beast ?

I kind of laugh that he says "The BMW 1 Series M is the Best BMW of All Time" and then "Here's why the BMW M2 is the Best M Car"

It's as though the world were absolute and the prospect of being presented with new learnings was preposterous

An opinion can evolve/refine/change, man

Haha. I just laughed a little at the videos when they popped on my screen because the next one up was the M2 video.

1M won't sell?

He says BMW made them for only 1 yr and in limited # for the US bc they didn't think anyone would buy them?

This is 2010/2011 and we are talking about the N54 which many have uncorked already. Did BMW market researchers live in a vacuum? Probably the same group that thought the Turbo Supra wouldn't catch on.

So let's recap... N54, add LSD, add WideBody, less weight.
Yeah everyone will hate it so lets make a 335IS, and detune the normal 335i with an N55.
Then, lets bring the N54 concept back heavier but charge $80k+ and call it M3.
We will then toss the N55 in the M2 to make sure its not as powerful or can't be easy tuned faster than the F80.

1M is an incredible car in many ways including the $$. I would go for a vert option instead even with the weight penalty.

I still have love for an ESS625 e9x M3, and consider the change for the v8 sound; but a stock one... pass.

Manual + torque + shorty wide wheelbase = fun in the twisties and around town.

Makes sense to me.

In the M2 video he clarifies this statement as the best current M car, which I think is a statement most (if not all on this forum) would agree with. He then restates the 1M as his favorite BMW ever.

The M2 video was made BEFORE the 1M video.. and if you watch the video, he actually declares in it that the 1M is his favorite and the M2 is the best thing currently made from BMW

Then he went back and drove the 1M and made the most recent video in which he proclaims the 1M remains on top as best ever for him, and that includes over the M4 GTS

If you have 10 minutes to spare it certainly is a fun video.

Guess what, the E9x M3, E92 M3 GTS, E46 M3, E46 M3 CSL, E39 M5, Z8... All drive considerably better than the 1M. Everybody has an opinion, this is a shitty one.
