Come on now. It's tucked up in the rear subframe which makes it very hard to swap out. I'll add that it looks a LOT thicker than the version on the 135.

Good point: There is a second rear shock part number for E90/E92 M3 vehicles with Competition package. Perhaps I'm reading the table on RealOEM.com wrong

01 Shock absorber, rear 33522284015 S7MAA=Yes
01 Shock absorber, rear 33522284312

I'm assuming the S7MAA=Yes version represents competition package with EDC! So not 100% clear on whether the 1M shock is on any version of the M3 competition package, but sure it is existing!
BMW developed non-EDC ZCP shocks specifically for the E9X M3 in Japan. The EDC versions of those shocks made their way to the MY10 Edition M3, and then the MY11 ZCP M3s a year later. It looks like BMW took the shocks for the JDM E90 and used them for the 1M.

What's the rusty orange thing?

Don't flame me but I don't know enough about cars to off-the-top-of-my-head tell anyone what that rusty orange thing is....but why is it so rusty? Isn't this a brand new car? Look at everything around the undercarrage...spotless...why woudl they use something that's going to corrode so quick?

that's cast iron rust. Probably from just washing the car.

Even in a quality product you'd use it as you can make high tensile strength and complicated shapes relatively cheap.

From your footprint, do I understand correctly you retro fitted ZCP shocks? If so, did that include the EDC control module?

I thought I read somewhere no xenons, bare bones, no sunroof, nav and a few other creature comforts the're are not planning on having...it's lame IMO. All other M cars have all those offerings so I don't understand why they wouldn't offer those on the intial offer then make a CSL version later down the road w/o all the extras.

Awesome! I'll be going to the show next week. Any idea if the car will be open so we can check out the interior?

Xenons are standard in the USA, however the pre-production cars do not have them. Nav is an available option.

...perhaps the EDC shocks are on there just for the press and test cars?... so that they can soften for certain drivers?..

..I notived that a test drive on a track I did of the Caddy CTS-v coupe was equiped by the manucafctuer with parts NOT on production cars "for the safety of the customers onthe track" .... jus sayin' LOL
