SLIMLINE vs STANDARD Personalised Plates...
I'm ordering QLD Personalised Plates 3 x 2 (3 Letters 2 Numbers) for my car but I am not sure whether slimline or regular will look better on the 1er.
On the front I have always had slimline and I think that looks best so I am going to keep it that way. I am unsure about the back plates... should I get Standard or Slimline? I'm thinking Slimline would look alot cleaner but it's hard to imagine until I get my car. If anybody could post pics of their cars with personalised plates I would really appreciate it! |

Slimlines all the way, have them on all of my cars
They look better on ANY car IMHO ! Only problem is though that for certain types of custom plates, you can't have them in slimline (here in Vic. anyway) they are the ones which have numbers and/or letters inbetween each other combinations... |

Have a look in the photo's forum, I am pretty sure there is a thread about personalised plates in there. You may have to sift through to find the Aussie ones but I have seen a few from QLD.
I too am contemplating getting some plates but all the good ones have been taken! Worst thing, is that I saw the plates 135-BMW one day, but it was on a 335 coupe! |

My vote goes to slimline........
I'm in the NT... you can have a look at some photos of the car here (link below) if you like for the slimline look - however not sure what colour choices you guys get in QLD. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21578 |

I was going to get White on Black but after seeing yours I think Black on White looks pretty sexy too. What backround do you think looks better? |

so good choice mate! You can't go wrong there. As for the colour we dont get that choice int he NT.... there are a couple of different types but in the slimline its either white background or yellow background. Maybe if you are good at photoshop try changing the colours around on mine to see.... ???:iono: but personally I think a black background with white lettering would suit a black car much much better.... |

I went slim-euro with the 3x2 letter/number combo and they look great IMO (black on silver) on my BSM 135.
I believe the slim look a lot better than the normal size plates, which are fine... if you drive a hilux |

Or the Euro plate has to have a Q at beginning and a Z or Y at the end, with 2xL and 2N in-between. |

I've received my Euro plates today and I was initially surprised that there were no holes for the screws to go in. Does that mean I'll have to get a drill or something and do-it-myself? You can tell it's my first custom plate o.O

Just an update...
I went with Black on White 3x2 Slimline front & back. The same as FJP135i except with QLD state. Thanks for your help everyone! Hopefully they arrive soon. |

I've got Qld 3x2, slimline front & standard rear. Silver letters on black background. That's still my prefference.
I gave them to the dealer along with the my plate holders - which mean't they didn't have to drill the plates. They then threw away my holders, replaced it with their dealer badged units and drilled my rear plate through the letters!? Pr!cks.
