Pro-Tuned - Upgrade DV's?

As per title, do I need to?

I've upgraded before on my old VW's but the stock DV's on those are weak and and leaked. I can't say I've noticed leaking symptoms with the stock ones on my N54.

I've also read a couple of posts where people had installed Forge DVs and had issues; can anyone back this up? I'd be looking for quiet stock sounding DVs as in don't like the ricey ptshhh noise...well that said I love the old fashioned sound of waste gate chatter after throttle release, like and old Ford Sierra Cosworth but I'm not sure that's achievable on this motor.

Are DVs on the N54 kind of an optional mod, like intakes?

It's kinda hit or miss. I read about people having there stock dv leak at normal boost and some not leak with a tune. I just went with a tial bov. It's not to loud and obnoxious. Upgrading them would be a good idea I woudnt want to take any chances

My stock dv's eventually began to leak, I would swap them out.

I WOULD agree with you on this one, but in this case, my stock diverters were leaking without throwing any codes and it wasn't until I swapped them that I realized that they were leaking as badly as they were.
