Sunroof Tilt Groan Noise

Does anyone know how to properly lubricate the mechanism in the sunroof that hinges the tilt function?

Mine is making a groan noise and I suspect it needs cleaning and fresh grease. The sunroof sliding is silent, only tilt makes noise.

I know there's a special grease PN 83192157321.

If anyone has pictures or resources to help that would be appreciated.

I'm in the same boat as you,

I have read about rattling noises but mine is more like a groan, it seems like something is lose and whenever I hit a bump or turn hard I get a groaning rubbing noise. I bought the grease but don't know where to apply it.

Did you end up fixing yours?

It's been a while but I had bmw lubricate the mechanism for me. Now all I get are very minor creaks when the car flexes. This is a new sound and could be due to my sunroof glass alignment after doing a full headliner swap. The proper lube in the guides will shut up the open/close tilt related noises from my experience.

Mine makes all sorts of noise only in hot weather using the tilt function, ill have to try greasing things to see if it stops
