Does this 'sound' normal?

Took a quick video of my car on start-up. When I pan over to the engine, at around 1:11 - 1:13 you can best hear a series of 3 "dink" noises. The direct injection is obviously there, but I am referring to noises beyond that.

Am I looking at wastegate rattle? I don't get it at all when revving or under load like I have seen other peoples videos. Car also holds ~11PSI on according to my P3 vent guage (so no boost lost from what I can tell). Car only has 3400kms.

i can hear that noise longer than 3 seconds on your video when panning over the engine... i'm no mechanic but it sounds like some sort of tappet? or belt?

Aye that it certainly does. The three seconds mentioned its just easiest to hear.

I'm not sure. If it was a belt it would be regular. Maybe I'm just OCD?? lol

If I was to guess I would say it sounds like the tappets are sticking or not getting enough oil on start up hence the ticking sound.

Does the noise go away once the engine is warm?

Yep it sure does I just sat there after my drive home from work trying to catch the sound again. Not a peep. I think maybe I'm just being OCD haha

Check again when the engine is cold. When did you last change the oil? And what sort of oil is in there?

Well car has 3400kms, so I've only done one post break-in oil and oil filter change. The standard stuff from BMW Castrol EDGE 5W-30

I dont know, It sounds normal to me as my N55 2011 45xxxkm does the same thing...

My 2013 N55 sounds similar @ 3000kms with factory oil.

It sounds a lot like my N55. It even has the same odd sounding rattle-rattle, that occurs every couple of seconds. I have no idea what that is, but mine seems to do it a bit less after the car reached around 10,000km. Check it again after taking the car for a long drive. I've been running Castrol 0W40 oil for quite long now (2 changes already).
