Tire Pressure for PSS

Is anyone else running lower than stock pressure in their PSS'? I run 32 PSI on the street with stock suspension (M3 front bar and rear subframe bushings with stock alignment settings) with even tire wear, excellent grip, and good ride comfort.

From prior vehicles (350Z and Volvo V70R) I've found found that stock or higher pressures wear out the center of the tires quickly. I don't want to make the same mistake on this car.

I'm surprised if you get even wear at 32PSI. On my 3 series with stock M-sport suspension I always have 36PSI cold in the front and still find the outside edges wearing prematurely (using Goodyear Eagle F1). For my 1 series with performance suspension and Michelin PSS tires I prefer higher pressures, so its 38 front and 40 rear cold pressures. For the 135i with stock suspension, I couldn't use more than 36PSI in the front due to insufficient damping.

We always recommend factory pressure settings with our wheels, regardless of the tires. I wouldn't really stray too far from it.

I can't agree with the use of 32PSI in the front. Too low for decent steering feel, and the front tire will wear the edges.

35PSI is the absolute minimum front tire pressure I would recommend to anyone. Less than that and you are risking rim damage too.

Thanks for the input. I'll bump up my pressure and see how it goes.

I could understand 36 PSI with runflats, maybe, but I can't understand why one would run such a high pressure with conventional tires.

I found the pss tires are happiest at 38 psi when hot. I keep mine at about 33-34 for street driving, and when i took them the track I'd start at 31-32 cold.

Just curious, what makes you think run flats would require higher pressure?

Actually I have no idea, I've just never seen high pressure demanded of tires on a small car.
