Preformance Areo side skirts
I took a liking to the BMW Areo side skirts as no other I series has this in my area. I can get the skirts pre-painted ready for install. As body mods is not one of my strong points I have the following questions:
1. Can this be done by a dealer or does it need to go to a body shop 2. What is involved in the installation 3. What is an average price of the install 4. Any pros or cons are comments of this mod A I have not actualy seem this mod except in pics I rely on imput from forum members. Thanks for any imput |

Lots of info right here. Did it on my 128 with no problems about 20 mins per side.

It is a fairly simple install. You might break the clips on the lower door plates though since BMW has them placed in where they brake no matter how you take them out

Thinking of getting them also, not sure from where ..any recommendations other than dealership????
Dan @ united may not ship because they will crack and are fragile. Also, anyone know difference between these and the BMW perf side skirts? |

I'd like to continue shipping them. However, doing so would mean a huge increase in shipping costs in order to pack them more securely. It already costs around $35.00 to ship, such a shame on such a beautiful product.

I don't think the cracking is caused in shipping. It's more likely the nature of the material when it removed from the mold, probably before it's fully cured.
If you buy local you should open the box before you take them home. BTW - Dan at United is the best !!!!! I would definitely recommend doing this mod - the performance side skirts look way better than stock. |

Dan sent me a front a rear bumper for my 128 to 135 look conversion and both were flawless in fit and paint. They were shipped in huge boxes and expertly packed. I wouldn't mind paying extra shipping for a new rear bumper. Chances are it's still less than my local dealer.

Also, might look at switching the factory 128 headlights from halo's to depot angel eyes!

I plan on getting these skirts for my car, but its winter now and I don't see a point in it right now. Waiting until later this year.
