new owner saying hi!

Hi ya'll .. my wife & I purchased this 2013 135i in Feb, as her summer cruiser.. mechanically in great shape, as per our local BMW dealer .. we ditched the run flat immediately, had it fully serviced & inspected .. my wife wanted one of these for a while, & I guess we got lucky finding a good & honest example.

with the weather turning for the better, I finally got a chance to play with my random orbital buffer.. 2 full days of back breaking work.. wash / clay bar / 4 stage compound + polish / glaze / jet sealer / wax + 10mm spacers in rear / 5mm spacers up front - & I think she finally looks ready for the summer!

Car looks great! Nice work and welcome!

I'd suggest getting one of those stubbie antennas.

Thanks Folks!

She has 68K on the clock, & so I just made an appointment for next week to have the valve carbon cleaning done (via walnut shell blasting).

I did this on my 2013 Golf R, & it made it feel like a new car!
Hoping for the same effect with the 135.

Stay tuned for 'before / after' pics ..

One more task for you, my detail-oriented friend....Cut the molding "nibs" off your tires. (Those 1/4" strands on the tires) It makes for a nice, clean look!
Welcome to 1Addicts, BTW. Great forum.

I know, right?! Dang, I thought I was the only one who cares about that.. did the fronts, one little nib at a time.. then lost patience. I have to finish the rears too. My wife saw me doing it & she thought I have gone & lost my mind. LOL

Just tell your wife she knew what she was getting in to before she married you. Like most of us here, you're probably an anal/OCD car enthusiast. There are worse things you could be, like an axe murderer. lol

sooo.. got a call from my dealer (took her in for valve carbon cleaning / walnut shell blast, & an oil change) & was told N55s dont have an issue with carbon build up (like N54s had). Who knew? I thought all direct injection motors suffer from that .. either way, they saved my $499 & I'm happy about that. Picking her up this PM, & giving her back to the old lady.

Great looking car. I have been searching for a 128 coupe and was curious if you had any questions when you were looking for yours whether the Takata airbag recall had been complied with. I ask because I am seeing cars for sale where the carfax shows an open recall on the airbag. Is it prudent to consider one of these cars? Does BMW have to honor the recall at any time or is there a time limit. Don't know if this was an issue for you but I am new to the forum and thought I would ask.
