Wheel Help, Please
Hey hey,
I honestly don't know what I'm talking about when it comes to wheel hubs and the correct wheels that fit them. I'm looking to replace the standard rims on my '06 E87 130i. I bought it with a brand new set of run-flats so I'm just looking to replace the rims and keep the tyres. Firstly, can I actually replace the rims with aftermarket pieces and keep the standard run-flats? Are there any concerns there? Secondly, what am I looking for on this car exactly? 5/what...? It's currently got factory 17's on. If you need any more information, please let me know |

Hi there.
With the 130i, if your car came with oem 17's, then most likely these are style 207m, with the following specs: 5x120 pcd, 7x17 front, 7.5x17 rear, ET47 offset all around. The RFT spec'd for these wheels by BMW were 205/50/r17 front, 225/45/r17 rear. If you want to change wheels and use the RFT tires you've already got, then I suggest you choose an oem BMW wheel with same specs and make sure these wheels are specific to run flat tires. Hope this helps. |

Brilliant, thank you. I had my suspicions that it was 5/120 but I just didn't know for sure.
I've got the non-M sport 130i, and I believe mine are the styling 141's (http://felgenkatalog.auto-treff.com/showpic.php?nr=141) which really are nice enough as it is, but I'm just itching to replace them for some reason Thanks for your response, this definitely helps |

Argh, that URL doesn't work. I found a useful site with all the BMW wheels and their respective codes though, if anybody isn't already familiar with it.

Yep, that's my favorite oem BMW wheel reference site too. Have a look around at other 17" wheels with the same specs as yours, and if you find some you like, then your tires should fit fine on those also, finding a set for sale may be problematic tho you never know. If you're looking at aftermarket wheels of around 7.5-8" width, try to stay above ET42 offset to avoid rubbing issues. Do also check that the wheels are compatible with RFT's.
