Blue-green tint with black and coral?
Just want to get opinions here.
I had to have my windshield replaced but the shop put in one that had a blue-green tint at the top instead of gray. My first reaction was "ugh" and the shop is perfectly willing to redo the work, since it was their mistake. But I feel kind of bad about wasting a perfectly good windshield and the shop's time and money. They're nice guys. What do you think of a green tint? Butt ugly or kind of cool? |

You shouldn't feel bad. You paid for the materials and work, but they screwed up. It's hard to tell how the windshield looks on your car without pictures, but if you're unhappy with their work, have them redo it.

when it comes to certain vehicles, we always ask what shade (if any) is on their vehicle... VW, BMW, Jag, etc..
so in the end, the installers aren't gonna be repromanded, but the person who sold you the part may be...

Thanks, all, you've helped me make up my mind. I'll try to get a photo up here just so you can see, but I've decided to go and change it. The blue-green really stands out and looks kind of retro at best and cheap at worst.

I have gone through a mess with windows... I totally agree with your decision. Get what looks good, even if it was your mistake, and it's not. Pay if you have to because in the end, every day you stare through the window, you will think... I should have got the better looking one. If it was some little thing on the back of the car etc, I can see not changing it... but the window you look through??? It has to look PERFECT1. I will go on to say if you see even the smallest of error in the install, get them to fix it. 100% perfect.
If you are unsure what a perfect one should look like, go back to the dealer and find a 1, take a picture and go back to get them to fix it. BTW document the error on the invoice and have them sign to fix it. If they won't, do not sign and take the car. I have been through the ringer with window people. They say one thing, then put in crap (glass made in china, and I didn't know at the time of this crap), use old seal, etc. I signed and had to live with that error for 3+ years. I hated it! Lucky in the end, I traded that car in. I had so many small issues with the car I could not look the new buyer in the face and tell him/her it was a good car. So trade in was the way to go for me. Anyway, get the best for your 1 baby and enjoy to the max!!!! These 1's are meant to look as good as new. Any blemish, fix it!!! Nothing worse than a baby with boogers and dirt on it's face. Same for these cars! That's my opinion. EspressoBoy |

I would have to see a picture but from what I could imagine, that color would look horrible on a beautiful sapphire black metallic. Have them change it, its not your fault after all and you will have to live with it for a long long time.
