Question help e39 M5 wheels

Name: BMM5.jpg

ok so i think the e39 M5 wheels are sick. specially if you black out every other spoke. i think these would look awesome on the one series. question is what is there offset, i know they are 18" and 5X120, what can i do to make them fit the one, if a wheel spacer is needed what size size, does anyone know where i could find a dealer who would sell then. don't want to go into huge debt for custom wheels but i am thinking this is a possible set up? ideas on where to look and who to talk to? or should i just give up and get the breyton gts-r's?

5 series uses very low offsets. they wont work with a 1, unless you find replicas with MUCH higher offsets

Your best bet would be to find a replica version made for the 3-series, since the offset will likely be doable. Also, I believe the e39 uses a larger bore size, so you also need centering rings.

I was considering these at one point... here is a crude photoshop. See this thread:

wow thx artmasterx and fourtail pipes! i know factory replica wheels has some or had, their website doesn't show them now. Hmmm, what about the wheel spacer and longer threaded bolts? bad for the cv joints or bolts easier to break off?

Since the OEM wheels are a 20mm offset, running a spacer would only makes things worse. For example, a 50mm offset wheel and a 10mm spacers equals a net 40 mm offset.

You are really not going to be able to run anything much less than a 40mm offset without the risk of rubbing.

I am not really sure where you can pick up replicas like that anymore. Maybe on eBay?

And I'm pretty sure E39 5-series have a unique hub, so most of their wheels don't work on other cars.

e46 m3 front wheels will work. they have a 47mm offset, so the fit is good. the only downside is that they're narrow. E46 M3 OEM 18", 19", ZCP or CSL fronts would all work.
