Has anyone seen a review of a 135i w/Dinan software?
I'm curious about impressions -- forum members thoughts are welcome (although I have read a lot of postings in the "135i Turbo Engine (N54), Exhaust and Drivetrain Modifications" section).
Thanks. |

I've not seen any serious reviews on the mods, just owners posting dyno's etc etc

Yea, there are only 3-4 people with dinan software but only one reported the cruise control working. I'll wait a few more months, or maybe longer..

got Dinan on AT 335 with v81 software. Cruise works fine, everything works fine. Performance is nice. Car is significantly quicker, more responsive...very impressive.
I have not personally driven any cars with other tunes as of yet for comparison, but stand alone vs stock...very impressive. |

I have had my DINAN tune for about 3 months now, I had a few problems that were related to bad spark plugs but those have been taken care of. The car is much faster and more responsive with the tune, when I had the tune taken out to diagnose my spark plug problem I could not believe how slow my car felt I hated driving it. I love driving the car with the tune, I look foward to driving no matter where I have to go the performance is amazing. You will be very happy with the DINAN tune. There is a cost difference with the DINAN tune but this is the way I look at it. BMW is going with Turbo engines for all of there cars now, you know the new M's will have turbos now that they have the twin turbo V8 750. They are not going want to warranty everyone turning up the boost on there cars, so they are going to make it so that it is detectable sooner or later. Now if you get DINAN who cares, but if you get a VISHNU or JB3 you will have a black box that cost you a lot of money that you now can use as a paper weight. If you want absolute power buy the JB3 if you want absolutely no worries get the DINAN.

I've had the Dinan Stage 2 software for about a week now. The car pulls very hard.
I had the car dyno tested before and after on a Dynapack dyno. The stock numbers were 255whp/279ft lbs. After the Dinan Stage 2 the numbers were 326whp/366ft lbs maxing at about 14.4 psi. The car has torque all over the rpm range and is a dramatic difference from stock (+71whp +87 ft lbs). It was a bit of a stretch to pull the trigger due to the pricing, but in the end I am happy with the results. No problems at all so far. |

My Dyno said 338hp maybe that shows that the AFE does work better for tuned engines that is the only difference in our cars.

You can also check e90 post. From people who have Dinan, the reviews are mostly positive. But, that is the same for EVERY tune. The problem is most have only driven one tune, so they have really no way to compare tunes.
The winning tunes (based on the numbers) are JB3 and PROcede v3. Dinan is kinda picked-on in the forums, IMO because they try to hold themselves to be a leading tuner, but do not have the results to back it up.
