Pads ... Not the libra kind

Hi all,

Anyone know where I can get a set of track pads for the 1M (M3 shape, size) before the weekend?
I'm looking for the Ferodo DS1.11 but open to other comparable options (endless ME20, etc).

Don't want street/track pads, looking for something I swap out for track days only.

Cheers
Ian

How did you come across this, Ian? Sounds interesting ...

I have five sets of pads, and they are generally purchased as E92M3 equipment (equivalent to 1M), although one set was handed down from an E90M3 racer.

Okay, thanks Ian (Syd). I think our brake issues are behind us, through trial and error (avoid OEM if at all possible).

Ian (Melb), I hope you find prompt resolution because there is one particular 1M hunter who will show our brothers no mercy on circuit.

Thanks for all the replies.
So far no luck getting a set of DS1.11, 3 weeks away apparently.

I'm away next week so I think I've just left it all too late. Might have to do Phillip Island with oem setup.

1M & M3 part numbers from BMW are different for OE rear pads. They are slightly different in shape. I was advised by dealer that pad compound also different.

I used E9x M3 rears for DS2500 pads, but no way the sensor would fit, where it does on an M3. The shape is marginally different too.
Something about the brake bias being more neutral-rear in the m3

For the track, http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=559124

People seem to haven't had an issue just putting on m3 pads front and rear, given calipers, rotors.. Entire rear axle.. are identical, they'll fit.

What's with the sensor not fitting though?

Via ecstuning, realoem and bmminiparts, ALL e9x and e8x share the same wear sensors.. Sounds like an issue with those pads, rather than being m3 or 1m pads

Sorry to hear that Ian

Your other option is to use the pagid yellow for this round ?

Oem setup on PI should be fine if you only push it hard for 2 laps max per session.

In our last piarc run I brake earlier like how I would drive on the street and it went thru all 5 laps per session ok. 3rd hot lap i started to feel the slight spongy feeling
