But, I got another problem with my KW install. The left rear is 10mm taller with everything set and installed exactly the same (checked over and over 3 times, 100% installed the same and springs sat neatly on the original bottom support). My mechanic reckons it could be the spring height difference. Anyway the left rear was readjusted by turning the purple disc to match the right side. Will keep on eye on it as the springs settle in the next 500km. Can anyone think of what else it might be? |

Our cars are significantly heavier on the RHS than the left due to many things, including the engine slanting to the right & the steering column being on the right. Add in a driver only and it's very RH heavy. I've got some corner weight figures of mine at home somewhere. I had my KW's set up such that the car sat level with a driver only in it. With our RH weight bias our cars should handle better on clockwise tracks than anticlockwise.

That's one of the good things with coil-overs Steve. They're height adjustable at each corner to compensate for weight disparity etc. It doesn't matter if they're from UK, US, Europe, NZ whatever. Eat as many donuts as you want.

Fantastic - we just need an iPhone app to calculate the height we need to compensate by from the extra donuts we need on the way to the track.

I'm yet to get alignment done, just waiting for the springs to settle down. Anyone knows roughly how many kms this take? |

I don't know how long springs take to settle. I'd guess it's more about the suspension rubbers/bushes settling than the actual steel springs.

Thanks Stu for your perseverance in organising my pedals from GTB Performance..
I appreciate all the follow ups and time you spent, to ensure the correct pedals where sent out, after the incorrect pedals where originally sent out... Well done BMR Autowerkes. Will post up some installed pix tomorrow. |
