Oil Change Interval for Track Use?

Hey guys, I am curious what your oil change intervals are for those of you whose cars are seeing regular track duty. I usually change it before every track day. Routinely see temps of 280 on my N54, no limp mode.

I am asking now specifically because I changed the oil about three weeks back for a track day, and now I will be back at the track again next week. Wondering if I should change the oil again so soon. The car has seen minimal street miles since, only driving to and from the track (~300 miles all highway). Our track days are your typical 4 session 15-20 lapping days. Pretty much as soon as I'm on it, the car is hanging out at 270-280 oil temps and ~210 water. Right now blending 0w/5w-40 oils, BMW approved M1 or Castrol.

If you go over to BF.c, topic has been beaten to death and even racers will tell you the oil can go much longer than you think. You'd be surprised what an oil analysis says but I go every 2 weekends (4 days).

Probably don't need to change as often as you are. I change once every six months, which is about 7,000 miles and two track days for me. If I am going to log a third track day in that window, I consider throwing in an extra change before that third event, effectively shifting my schedule to once every four months.

I had 6 track days on the euro castrol 0w-30. Sent a sample into blackstone labs. Report came back stella, could have gotten another weekend or more of track time based on the lab results.

Usually change mine every 4-5 full track days, and notice that the oil viscosity starts to break down at about that interval (oil consumption starts at about that interval). The short longevity might be due to the medium quality oil I use (Castrol European Forumual 0w-40).

I installed a BMW oil thermostat bypass on my N55 to lower oil temps, and never seen a limp mode, even with agressive custom e-tune turned on.

Edit: Oil temps at the track reach 230-250F with the above combination ...

Can people post up their average oil temps that they are seeing, in conjunction with the oil used. A car that runs at 220*F all day obviously isn't going to be breaking down oil like the N54 cars touching 300*F.

Oil temps at the track hit a max of 230-250F (mid-way mark) with BMS Oil Tstat bypass and Castrol GC 0w40 on my N55 with an agressive PTF custom tune, using 94 Octane fuel...
