disable seat belt chime?
hi fellow 1-series owners!
Is there any way to disable the seat belt chime on a 135i '13? Thanks!

I think the only way is to code it out.

This drives me crazy when I am driving just back from the mailbox. I find myself yelling at the car to shut up as it chimes after I go into park, haha.

I think you can decrease the volume in the radio settings.

I can see a reason if you have a heavy enough load in the passenger seat (groceries or something). The weight sensor will activate the passenger airbag, which in turn will activate the chime if the seatbelt is not fastened.

It's very easy! Take the seatbelt and buckle it around you when you get in and drive the car. That always works for me.

I've been wanting to do this on the pass side. Have two kids in the back, want to quickly put stuff in the front and the alert goes off. From what I've heard, coding is the only answer. Wish it would only go off if a higher weight amount. A kid back pack with a book inside or a 12 pk of beer....Yeah no.

There are two ways to code this away. The first, and probably best, way to do it is to add "+OT11" and "+OT12" to the "vehicle order". I never have done this but this addresses the warning chime, turns it off, the most direct way.
The other way is to download module "ABG" and set several things to "nicht_aktiv". The things you change all start with "SBR" except for "CC_GURTWARNUG_1" which controls the gongs at startup. There are four other items to be changed but I don't know which does which. I believe one or more are for the passengers seat. This is a few minutes with NCSExpert. If you have the cable and the code it is pretty easy. I have also heard of people who can do the coding remotely. Jim

I bought a $6 metal piece off amazon that you can clip in instead of the seat belt buckle if you feel so inclined as to take the low tech route.
http://www.amazon.com/Buckle-safety-...kle+chime+stop has worked great for me when carrying cargo on the passenger seat as well.

The reason I asked (and yes, I wear my seat-belt when driving), is that I stop at my mail box in the afternoon and then make a short drive through my neighborhood back to my house. I see no point in wearing my seat belt during that short drive back to my house inside a subdivision with no intersections. However I get annoyed with the gong nagging me. Sounds like there's no easy fix huh?

This is my favorite fix for this issue. I mean, I probably have a similar situation, stop at the mailbox, short slow drive down the street thru the neighborhood. However, I hate that chime so I don't mind putting my seatbelt back on. Especially around here where people don't look where they are going and I know at some point some dumbass is going to pull out in front of me.

the OP said its for the passenger's seat I set my purse on there and it sets off the BLING noise. Those faux buckles are the bestest!
