BMW 1 Series Coupe and BMW 1 Series Convertible Limited Edition Lifestyle Announced

COMMENTS

December 17, 2012... The new Limited Edition Lifestyle equipment package shines an even brighter spotlight on the aesthetic qualities of the BMW 1 Series Coupe and BMW 1 Series Convertible. The package’s exclusive and high-quality equipment details are carefully coordinated and add engaging flourishes to both the interior and the exterior.

As well as the exclusive Mineral White metallic paint, customers can also choose from two other exterior colours, while 18-inch light-alloy wheels accentuate the cars’ classy looks. The Lifestyle Edition contrasts are particularly effective on the BMW 1 Series Convertible; a brown soft-top with silver pigmentation generates fascinating light effects, for example. Brown leather trim with white contrast stitching plays the lead role in the interior of the Lifestyle Edition cars. A matching brown sports leather steering wheel, specially badged door sill strips and Fineline Stream fine wood trim elements add the finishing touches to the interior ambience.

The new Limited Edition Lifestyle equipment package will debut at the NAIAS 2013 in Detroit next month.

To sell more cars at the end of this cycle? It can be tough getting rid of inventory before a new model arrives. These changes also don't add much to BMW's production costs.

I don't know why that trim wasn't available at launch or even throughout the life cycle - it makes the interior, otherwise simple and bland, look like of higher quality.

hoping to create "limited" editions to clear out inventory like the E92m3 eh? trying to make way for the new 2er? With all the press the 2er will get, these old 1ers will just sit there.

I thought the start of the F20 would mean the end of the E82 life cycle. Are these special models for NA only?

What is the e82/e88 life cycle then? Is this going to extend to the full 7 years within NA? Does this mark the end of the life cycle or are there going to be more special editions?

The brown seats and trim aren't very appealing.

Absolutely. I don't get why some people always complain about these. It is a smart financial move on their part and it is cool for an owner. If people buy em and love em who cares?!

I wish my car was a special edition, I want that exclusivity and don't exactly like seeing my exact car stroll by.
