Cassiopeia Leader is in Open Sea on Way to California
The Cassiopeia Leader has left Bremerhaven and is in the open sea right now on its way to California. I am monitoring the Jupiter Diamond and will let you know when that one leaves.
I suspect that it will take a few days before the 800 Number has the information on what cars were loaded on the Cassiopeia Leader. Congratulations (in Advance) for all those who made it on this ship. Larry |

I used a site that tracks ships all over the world.
This is the site: http://aisfree.aislive.com/Influx.aspx You have to Register (It's Free) and then you can go to Bremerhaven or the Panama Canal or West Coast of California and you can follow the ships. It's a little tough to figure it out, but I was able to do it. It shows the direction the ship is traveling. That's how I was able to figure out that the Cassiopeia was going west away from Bremehaven. So, try it out. I am going to only post all future messages regarding the three (3) ships going to California on THIS POST. That's because there are three (3) different posts out there, two started by me and one by USAF. So, to make it easier, I'll just post here. Today, I am going to track the Jupiter Diamond and see if it leaves early or is still in port today. Have a great day. I'm getting very excited. I read really closely the BMW Salesman's Sales Guide for the 3 series and, my God, it is going to be an amazing car. It has virtually everything that is on the 5 and is a much better looking car. My nephew is buying a new 550 this coming Sunday. It will be fun to drive it. But, to be honest, I just can't get past the looks of the 5 and 7. I am so glad BMW decided to tone down the 3. Yeh ! Bye for now. Larry in Los Angeles |

Good Info, I have to look into that site later. Has OC updated the "In transit" status for you yet? Do you know which ship your car is on? |

My car was completed on the 10th and arrived at the Port on the 13th. If the Cassiopeia left on the 19th, then it must have been loading for several days before that. So, I doubt that I made it on THAT ship.
The Jupiter Diamond is still in Bremehaven as of an hour ago. So, I guess I could get on that one. The 800 number still says I am waiting for a ship, but I know that the 800 info is days behind. So, once it says I'm on a ship, it will have already left the port. If I'm on the Cassiopeia, I figure I'll know by today or tomorrow. If I'm on the Jupiter Diamond, I'll find out Sunday or Monday, a few days after it leaves Bremehaven. Now, if it's the Ryujin (May 2nd), then all bets are off. I have been trying to find out where the Ryujin is right now, but can't find it. And, I lost track of the Cassiopeia, since it's in open sea and I can't track it until it reaches the Caribbean or Panama Canal. Larry in LA |

My car was out of production on 4/7. I am hoping it'll be on Cassie, but if not at least Jupiter Diamond. Man that would really suck if I end up on the Ryuji..but at this point nothing surprises me anymore

I know what you mean. With 6,000 cars are each ship, it's hard to believe that there are THAT many cars sitting in a parking lot in Bremerhaven waiting for a ship, but I guess there ARE that many.
I was able to locate the satellite picture of the parking lot at Port Hueneme where the cars sit when they are off loaded. It's a pretty huge parking lot. So, I can only imagine how big the one is in Germany. I am going to go and see if I can find the Bremehaven parking lot. As soon as you get info that you're on a ship, let us know. From listening to the 800 number, it sounds as if when we're on a ship that the 800 number will tell us the shipping information details. Hope so. Good luck. Don't feel bad. Your car is coming. To show you how crazy I am : I am going up to the BMW dealer and sit in a few 3's and go into the back lot and look for one in my color. Is that nuts or what? L |

yeah I hope it'll get here soon. Seems like it's the luck of the draw with wait time. Some people only wait 1 week before production, then a week waiting for transport, and then 3 more weeks and bam...new car. Looks like luck hasn't been on my side... 3 weeks just to enter production, 2 weeks just waiting shipment, then 4 weeks at sea ans probably another week at VDC..woohoo 10 weeks...yeah and I know I am whining, just hate the wait. I guess at least I don't live in Hawaii then I would have to wait 12 to 14 weeks..blah

Just for fun, attached are satellite pictures of the Port Hueneme facility near Oxnard, California.
The first picture is farther up in space and the second a little closer. You will see two (2) really huge parking lots. I do not know which one belongs to BMW and which belongs to other manufacturers. But, they are right next to each other. Enjoy. |

Congratulations.
I have been looking at the port all day to see if the Jupiter Diamond has left port. It still shows it sitting in port, but it could leave any time now. I called my dealer and he told me that my car was "released for distribution". That's nuts because that is about 5 steps BEHIND where it is since the 800 number says it is at the port awaiting a ship. So, I may be on the Jupiter Diamond also. Does the 800 number say you're still waiting. Please call and let me know because if the 800 lady says you are ENROUTE, then I probably am NOT on your ship. If she says you are AWAITING A SHIP, then that might mean I'm on the Jupiter. Thanks for calling for me. I will check later today and see if the ship has left port. And, I'll check tomorrow morning also and will keep you posted. Thanks buddy. Larry |

I was just looking at your old posts and your car was produced the same day as mine (the 10th or 11).
So, it seems likely I'm on the Jupiter Diamond also. I'm gonna be really bummed out if I didn't make it on the same ship. I called my dealer around Noon and he ran the car. I don't want to bug him. I'll ask him on Sunday when I go to pick up my nephew's new 550. Thanks again USAF for checking with the 800 number for me. L |

Hey USAF:
I was just thinking: If the 800 Number and BMW Computer are delayed by a few days, it very well may be that your car left on the Cassiopeia Leader, the ship that left early on the 19th. That would make sense if there is a couple of day delay in the data getting into the BMW computer. So, you may actually arrive a few days earlier. I know you will be happy about that. Did they tell you how many days it will take to truck the car from the port to Phoenix? L |

Fxxk I am about to give up on waiting for my damn car, maybe it's my luck or something, but I asked my CA today, and this is what he replied to:
I just checked on the Status of your 2006 BMW 325i. The vehicle has been manufactured but not yet shipped from Munich, Germany. Once the vehicle has been shipped it normally takes approximately 27 days on the water and another 7 days from receipt at the VPC, in Oxnard, California to Sterling BMW. The automobile will most likely be shipped early next week and then the 34 day clock begins before we will have the vehicle at Sterling BMW. WTF? At this point, I might just wakk away and get me something else, my car was done on 4/6 according to BMW N.A. and now it's not suppose to leave until next week? There's not even a ship leaving next week... So if that's the case I ordered on 3/13, I won't freaking get it until June? I guess I am the lucky winner with 12 weeks wait... Anyhow, I have a feeling my CA didn't really look it up. Can anyone help and maybe ask their CA to look up my car status and which ship this is on? my production# is below: Production Number 7071882 Thanks if you guys can help me out, this is getting ridiculous and yes I am aware that I am acting like a crybaby , but oh the wait..... |

I understand your frustration.
I called the 800 Number and it said your car is at the port awaiting a ship (just like mine says). Since your production date is so close to mine and USAF's, I would assume that you are already on the Cassiopeia Leader or will be leaving tonight on the Jupiter Diamond. Hopefully I'm on there with you. So, I'd give it a few days for the data to get onto the BMW computer. Since my dealer's BMW Computer data still says that I was just turned over to distribution (when the 800 Lady says I'm awaiting a ship), it means the BMW Dealer computer has totally delayed info. So, don't get upset. With 12,000 cars having gone out the last 3 days, I would be SHOCKED if you are not on one of these two ships. At the very least, you'll be on the Ryujin on May 2nd. But, I'll take bets that you are already on one of the two ships that are out this week. Good luck. Let me know as soon as the 800 Number or your dealer says you're on a ship. Larry in L.A. (By the way, what city do you live in? I'm in Sherman Oaks in the San Fernando Valley.) |

Good looking out, hopefully my car is or will be on one of the ship and not on Ryuji...Part of me is getting impatience is because even though I am putting a large amount down as downpayment, I am financing a portion of it at a really good interest rate and I have already extended the loan period and defintely need to use the blank check before 6/1. I guess I could go in and pay for the car now, but I would much rather see the car first before paying. The OC and 800# still said awaiting transport, but if there's a delay at dealership comp, then it could explain why my CA couldn't tell (curious though, how did the other poster get a confirmation from his CA that he car was shipped out today then?) Anyway, I'll give it 2 to 3 days and see what happen. My guess is though, my car was probably one of the first batch during this production run (that's why I waited 3 weeks from order to production assuming I just missed the production previously) so it wouldn't make much sense to load my car last. Also, CA said 7 days at VDC, that sounds kind of long for a priority 1 vehice. Anyway, if possible, if you get an update from your CA telling you your car is transit, maybe you can inquire about mine? Keeping my fingers cross hoping everything will go well. P.S. I am located in Long Beach, right by the boarder of Seal Beach |
