neg terminal of battery

ok, retard question here.
Im trying to disconnect the neg terminal of the battery but cant seem to get it off.
I've loosened the nut but its still stuck...?

Back off the nut about 80% but keep it attached to the nut. Tap down on the nut lightly then lightly pry the clamp apart with a flat head screwdriver. Rock the clamp back and forth and it should come off.

undo the nut so it's 'loose' (but still on the thread) then just wiggle the thing side to side to come off.

Put a large bladed flat screw driver in the clamp opening and twist..

Its made from lead, so should separate quite easy.. If need be, hold onto the clamp/cable with a pair of multi grips for added stability whilst separating the clamp..

when all fails, WD40 often helps loosen contact on contact.
