Pete's New Wheels [Updated 11-08-2013]
Hey guys,
Thought I'd share some quick snaps of some new wheels and tyres that I have just had fitted to my 1er. These are Rays G25's in Mercury Silver. Here are some pics I took of the Rays catalog: http://imageshack.us/photo/photo/248...407080020.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/photo/32/...407080029.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/photo/194...407075747.jpg/ The setup I have is as follows: 19x8 ET 48 Fronts 19x9 ET 50 Rears Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 tyres - 225/35/19 Front, 255/30/19 Rear. To answer the inevitable questions - Stock suspension. No spacers. Package feels really good. No drawbacks except that the tyres seem to be louder on the road when compared with the runflats. This probably has something to do with the 1" larger wheel size, or, the tyres not being worn in yet. BIG thank you Tyrepower in Hawthorn for putting together an excellent package for me. I dealt with Mickey directly and he was very helpful. Thanks guys. I'm relived the fitment and everything worked out perfectly. I was worried I might get the wheels touching suspension components or have rubbing on the arches, but everything is spot on.

Was going to go Advan RZ 19" route, but following a good hour discussion with Micky regarding colours and designs, he mentioned that these forged wheels rays would look good. Mentioned that they would only cost a little more all round in comparison to the Advans. What sold me is that they came in a colour that I actually liked as the Gunmetal Advans are too dark for my tastes and hyper silver's too bright. Cast vs. forged wheels + something different. Hit the trigger. Need to get some better photos arranged.

Wish I had a SGM 135i they look absolutely mint.
Yep, Advans are expensive for cast wheels though you cant deny they are a quality example of a cast wheel. I paid approx your estimate for 18" Advans fitted for this package. Pilot Super Sports would have been cheaper but decided to go Goodyears for their superior wet performance.

You got a decent deal then, especially if he quoted cheaper than that for 19" Advans!
Enjoy the wheels |

Fairly much. Have driven on them around 200 kilometers now. To my surprise they certainly seem to have quietened down, which is nice. Very happy RFT's gone. The wheels come in 18", but I personally feel 19's look better on our cars, even if an 18" would perform better.

Updated with some slightly better pictures.
Not sure if I want to lower, I think the wheels fill the wheel wells nicely.
