what happened to BMW Australia Build your car webpage?
This is ridiculous. Porsche still have their 'Build your car' function on their website albeit without pricing. I can't even find an accessories/options list for a car on BMW's site. Maybe they wanted to make their dealers do more work during these quiet times.

What a joke! If you are desperate you can go to BMW.COM and select UK or US for example and see what options there are (packaged differently here of course) but no help on pricing however. OT of course, but if you go to Audi they give you a colour catalogue with TAX inc pricing for all options on the car you are looking at. Much better IMO. |

BMW must have deleted the configurator option when mandatory drive-away pricing came in. As stamp duties are different in all states. I guess BMW thought it was too hard to configure it for each state.

I'd guess that BMW's configurator software was heavily tied in around pricing. Changing it must have been too difficult for a "quick fix" otherwise they would have done it already.

Thats the problem you get from having so many options and changing their price every few months. Need a Cray computer to run what should be a relatively easy website!

Perhaps just another conspiracy theory, do you think BMW mind having people call/come in to get pricing? no way, they get face to face and can take the opportunity to sell a car.
Maybe this works well for them |

Blame the ACCC...
They can't advertise pricing online now unless it includes all post-sale costings. Most car dealers will not do that anymore, and it's too hard to calculate with LCT and accessories/options thrown into the mix. Subaru have started to bring back pricing. |

Everyone knows it's not too hard to do - it is one of ACCC's flaws of trying to fix something that is not broken. They flex their muscles for transparencies, and all they ended up is less transparency. There's no obligation for a dealer to tell you what each option's is worth. We also potentially end up with an abbreviated option list like the US, and we'll end up paying for things that we don't need or want in the car with packages.

There is no pricing, but you can get a DVD for the same. I picked one up from the rack.
Here are some images.

The prob just sacked the person doing the configurator ... I dunno hehe.
I am sure it will come back, judging the DVD version is so slow... I think they might have to simplify this before doing a web version. Call your dealer up or BMW Australia to get one send to your office.
