I wouldnt suggest 18x8.5 ET45 if your car is lowered or changed coilovers
the reason why i said this is because i have a customer (lower with H&R and koni shock)that ordered a set of other brand not VMR
and he is running 18x8,5 ET45 front
the wheels is touching the front shocks.....and it rubs badly
after putting the 5mm spacers on the problem is fixed.....
so either 18x8 ET45 or 18x8.5 ET40 at the front is safer if you dun want to put any spacer after

Hope this help=)

I think it's close and may depend on what front shocks you have. I have 8.5" ET43 with have KW v2 coilovers and get no rubbing and there's around 5mm clearance.

No problems with std. shocks too as I changed to coilovers post wheels. Some on this forum have 8.5" ET45 v713's & 8.5" ET46 Forgestars up front with KW's and std. shocks that also have no rubbing issues but it will be close.

Just wonder if there may be some tolerance issues which may cause some to rub on the shock or could be some third party shocks are thicker than OEM & KW?

you might be right, the customer just installed the koni yellow, it may be the koni yellow is thicker than other shocks like oem and kw?

I personally think 9.5" ET50 would be perfect for the rear. ET45 will require arch rolling.

I noticed one of the retailers on here advertising the new VMR v701's for the 1er in following sizes below

19x8.5" ET45 front
19x9.5" ET45 rear

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=327334

but I do recall Peter from VMR saying that the offsets recommended on this thread was on the cards for the v701's and other designs. I'm a little confused why the 9.5" ET45 is now recommended for the 1er?

I think it's well known that this size will not fit without arch rolling.....

This forum is a mess allowing people to sell items with fitment issues. Rims don't fit and companies that take pre-orders for rims are taking over a year to provide the product. I feel like i can't trust most vendors on here.

The wheels fit! They are just more aggressive than some people prefer. My CSL from VMR have lower offsets and they fit just fine for me.

Which is why 95% of people who have the VB3's say they have had rubbing issues and most have had to roll the arches

The other 5% may be lucky that they are on std. (higher) suspension, have to resort to very stretched tyres and/or have never had a full load of people in the back or heavy load in the trunk while cornering aggressively.

lol, I guess I just got lucky then.

This is my car, lowered almost 3" on VMR wheels with minimal stretch (OEM tire sizes) and it does not rub. +40 in front and +45 in rear. No rolling or fender mods at all.

215 on a 8.5" rim and 245 on a 9.5" rim is more max stretch rather than minimal stretch considering these are normally associated to 1" narrower rims

I'm glad you have no rubbing issues though

PS your car looks great with the VB3's

Sorry for the long pause!!! We've got V710 18x9.5 and 19x9.5 ET50 in production. Target arrival is mid-late January!

What we are starting with is the 9.5" width ET50, this one involved a small modification in the 9.5" mold to make it happen.

Second, a 8.0" wide front wheel is in the works, but with no ETA yet.

So in the interim, you can go with a 8.5 ET40/45 in the front, and 9.5 ET50 in the rear. Should anyone wish to switch over to a 8.0 when it becomes available, we will discount you enough that you can switch over with little/no out of pocket cost!

How does this sound to everyone? If you go to our site at www.velocitymotoring.com, there will be no information yet. These products are still in the R&D phase and isn't marketable yet

So is this only for the V710 or does it include the VB3 as well?

Thanks -

Thanks for the update Peter.

Good to hear that the 1 Series fitments are not getting forgotten about and also the 8" front will give another option. Any offset details on these?

I will be looking to buy some wheels before the summer starts
