I have had good luck with 1010tires.com
tiretrends.com is good too.
Or call Bob at Urban Expressions in Calgary.

I got my winters from 1010tires last year. They had free shipping and only charged gst so I saved a lot compared to the local shops.

Even though they aren't in Canada, Tirerack. They ship to Canada all duty, brokerage, taxes, etc. in so you know what you are paying. And, with the dollar on the way up and China sitting on tons of US cash it may continue to go up against the US$.

If you are in Toronto, then I recommend simplytire. Prices include installation and are hard to beat, usually better than 1010Tires' and often even Tire Rack's if you factor in shipping and exchange rate.

Call Allen at (416) 916-9233 or e-mail him at allen at simplytire dot com.

I have no affiliation with simplytire, I have just done some homework and found it to be among the best for purchasing tires and wheels locally.

Thanks for the tips guys. I am in Halifax, not a lot of choices around here. I will probably end up going the TireRack route for selection and reputation.

I remember a few years ago on an Audi forum someone started a group buy for tires. Basically ordered dozens of sets of them and saved on the shipping from USA.

Tirerack! I saved HUGE money getting my wheels/winters from them last september. The dollar was at par then but the price and selection was way better then anything up here. I just got them ordered to a receiver in the US just south of the border and headed down to get them. I got free delivery to there and was only charged the tax on the price paid. No duty on top.

All winter tires are made at the same time and start to become available in August and September.
