when my pdc stopped working, it was because water has seeped through the rubber inserts between rear taillight and boot and filled the thing with water

The rear mirror not tilting down during reverse is usually due to the fact that you have the left mirrors selected on the elec mirror control. It doesnt auto tilt down when it is the selected mirror, moving the selector to the right mirror should get it going again, otherwise it could be something more sinister.
As for the PDC not working, sounds like something is wrong there?

the head unit for pdc is a small little box accessible after removing the carpet cover of your right rear taillight. sometimes water can seep down into the unit itself. your boot wouldn't have to be filled with water, at least mine wasn't.
just take it to the dealer for warranty replacement.

Fixed it
well i'll grab the pics soon, PDC module had indeed been sitting underwater since it broke (about half an inch in the stupid foam thing) - the module itself .. the CB was covered in rust, it's disgusting. how this relates to the rear view mirror auto dim? fuse 28 unplugged the PDC module (will buy a new one now) and replaced the fuse.. tested the mirror (cover the back sensor, shine on the front) and it works again , no more blowing from the broken PDC lol .. if anyone wants a 3er auto dim rear view mirror with a small clown nose lemme know haha. ED: seems my module is obsolete? i have 6982390 - it's not even listed on BMmini or realoem Last edited by flinchy; 08-31-2012 at 10:31 PM.. |
