e92 335i Coupe Pricing Poll

The price ranges listed are in US dollars for the US market and should be your best guess at the MSRP base price of the ’07 e92 335i coupe.

Many people have strong opinions of the new 335i coupe pricing. Debates are all over the forum and the guesses range greatly from the current 330 pricing (mid-30’s) to over $50k. This poll will give everyone one chance to publicly post what price they believe BMW will set for the e92 335i coupe.

This thread is not intended to rehash the many debates over this forum on the 335i pricing. It really doesn’t matter what the reason people have for the price they choose. The poll is intended for people to state once what they believe and have the bragging rights if they are right or the humility of being so far off they are out of touch with how BMW thinks.

At this point anyone can be correct. This poll is just a fun way to speculate until the pricing is released in a couple months (or hopefully earlier).

This is a GREAT idea. Tons of people posting certain things and then flip-flopping randomly.

My guess is that the MSRP BASE will be $41k.

I'd like to reiterate that he's asking us to put up our BASE price guesses...some people seem to struggle with that concept (though I won't name names )

Hey 3aficionado, you didn't give us your prediction!

I've always guessed a base price of $39,999 to come in just under the magic $40K mark that is used by auto journalists comparing vehicles and it makes a great marketing number for sales. Many of my other thoughts based on BMW history explaining why the e92 335i base price won’t be extreme are in numerous other threads.

If it's just gonna be turboed it would be $39k-40k based. The coupe would be $2k more so $41k-43k. Those are my guestimates assuming they dont add in a bunch of standard options which would obviously jack up the base price.

Depends on what it comes with standard, but I think around $42k

The base model will have lots of 330 options as standard making the price at least $42K. Configuring a 330 with the same options will put a 330 within $2500 of a 335.

There is going to be a 330i coupe.
The current E46 330ci base is $37,600.
I doubt a brand new high performance 335i will be around $40k.
The new 330i coupe will probably go up to at least $38k if not a bit more.
The 335i might start at $45-$47k.

Also, the current M3 starts at $48,900. The new one will probably be MUCH higher than that. My guess is somewhere around $55k.

That's my guess and speculation. But, feel free to use your own guess and speculation and add to the fun of not knowing.

I thought it was agreed the US atleast would be getting a 328/335 coupe. If this happens the 335 is REPLACING the 330, not in addition. Therefore the base will be much closer to the base of the 330. I would bet $39,999. I would be shocked if it was more than $41,999.00.

$46,000 seems a bit expensive even with the addition of the all new N54 engine. I hope this is a South Africa estimate and not a US estimate.

hard to tell. After all, the 3 series was declared world car of the year. That gives BMW alot of incentive to drive up the price of their car. They know the 3 series is such a huge success. I am hoping I am wrong.

I tend to support your guess. When we are talking a BMW Turbo engine ........the figures are irrelevant really, and regardless, the fun factor of the 335i should be 50% more than the 330i. I would be very surprise if the exhaust sound of 335i is not much better. A while ago, no one seems to agree with me the E92 will take a big slice of the CLK market, and obviously, with more luxury and better styling in the E92, CLK will get hit if the E92 price is set right. Performance coupe/convertibel lovers will start considering a E92 convertible in 2007 if the 306hp CLK500 does not get the 388hp new S500 engine. However, my guess of M3 price is 62-65K merely because it is now a V8 and is still cheaper than RS4 and much higher performance than the 60K C55AMG.

In the UK the 335i SE Coupe is about £33000 and the E46 330i SE is currently £30570.

This is what C&D had to say about pricing who nows if they're just guessing like we all are:

The 335i is expected to carry a base price of at least $42,000. A naturally aspirated 230-hp 3.0-liter also will be available in the 328i coupe. We predict the 328i will cost less than $40,000. The 328i’s engine is a detuned version of the 255-hp inline-six found in the 330i sedan, but thankfully, it isn’t as dumbed down as the 3.0-liter in the 325i sedan that makes only 215 horsepower. An all-wheel-drive 328xi coupe also will be available, but don’t look for the turbo engine with all-wheel drive anytime soon. If 300 horsepower isn’t enough, wait for the 2008 M3 coupe, which is expected to have a 400-hp naturally aspirated V-8 and cost $55,000

Hard to know what the base price is when we dont know what options will be included in the 335i package up front.

It seems the 328i coupe has significant less power than the 330i sedan. This means it will force the coupe buyers to go straight to the 42K version. I predict the 330i sedan will remain production.

Car and Driver is full of crap. But the 42K value can be reached by other means.
