Could be the HDR photos we do but it's spot on. Our bodyshop removes the gas cap to make sure it matches

Pricing depends on the material you go with- single sided CF or double sided CF. Check out our site for pricing, for the paint, that depends on your local shop.

That's good because one of our first production hoods is going to an AW 135

Honestly, you guys did an awesome job. I don't think I could have imagined a better looking more aggressive aftermarket hood. Keeping the hood in carbon fibre is a bit too ricer for my tastes but painting it the same as the rest of the car and keeping the vents cf looks sweet! I can't wait to see some pics on Alpine White....

Nice looking job...I like the vented look and was toying with the idea of going this route sometime in the future. It would have to be functional for me to consider it, though. I could not find a schematic showing the size and location of the vents. The Vorsteiner site describes a similar hood for the e90/92 as having an opening at the front of the dropped area, and at the side vents. Looking at my 135 and comparing to the photos, I am puzzled: With the hood popped open just enough to see inside and measuring along the hood crease, I get a measurement of about 14" from the rear of the hood to the seal over the rear compartment. I looks like the side vents are over the sealed off area. What possible function could they have there besides appearance? It seems they would have to be located more forward, with the front of the vent at about the position of the center slot in order to vent hot engine compartment air. Am I missing something here?

The vents are 100% functional and serve as ventilation points for the engine. The way the hood was designed is we took a picture of a customer's car that was driven in the snow fairly hard. We noticed the snow melted across the center and on both sides- clearly areas where the engine heats up and vents. These allow for heat to pass through and reduce heat soak.

LOL....yeah but sometimes something simple like that explains easier than a technical discussion...at least to the layman.

Vorsteiner.com has pictures of a not dissimilar hood on a white 3 Series.
