For those with Bluetooth Problem
For those of you having problems connecting ur phone to ur car, Let your phone connect automatically to ur car, simply turn the bluetooth feature on on your phone and let it find your car. It will do it no problem. If you try making it connect to your car, sometimes it will not (in my case, most of the time it wont do it the first time). So if you have problems connecting ur phone to your car, try that. Mine works all the time now.

right....so long as your have the "approved" phones per BMW. I have a samsung bluetooth phone, and it has no problem connecting with the car, but it won't work. My buddy uses his razor, and no problems.

Thanks for paraphrasing the owner's manual for us.
There is a known problem with the bluetooth software, and the lastest software update seems to fix it. Not everyone has the problem. I did.

Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.

Software upgrade CIP 20 includes a fix to the intermittent bluetooth connection with the phone. I use an unlocked Treo 650 with T-mobile service (it's not on the approved list) and was only intermittently able to connect to my 325i's bluetooth. After the CIP 20 upgrade, it works perfectly. Mind you, my phone is not on the approved list with carrier. It's approved for sprint but not t-mobile and it still works great. No problems anymore. One catch, in order to get the upgrade, you must tell your SA that you're having problems with your bluetooth.

I had the BT issue for two months . Problem seems to have been a software glitch with timing and pairing. Dealer installed CIP 20 per service advisory in January . BT has worked great ever since .

Works good now, I just leave my power on under the setup window all the time. It automatically detects it. No more problems!!!

I would have the bluetooth and assist disappear from the menus (I'd get a -- under both) I don't think its the same problem you all are having, but my car is getting an upgrade right now. They said the TSU was also recalled, and after the update, they will probably have to order and replace it.
