Too bad grey or black is not available without the stripe. I would buy right now if they were:iono:

Thanks for hooking this up though Gill:w00t:

Update!

The black w/red stripe version of this wheel is on the water. These are expected to arrive on 7-14.

The date can change but unless a customs problem arises they should be here within a few days of this date.

As of today, it still looks like 7-27 for the grey w/red stripe and 8-30 for the silver w/no stripe.

These are same size as stock 18X7.5" front and 18X8.5" rear, but are they the exact same offset as stock?

Stock is 49/52 and these are 45/48. They sit a slight bit farther to the outside.

That photoshop doesn't really do the wheel justice. It leaves out the depth that really makes the wheel.
Here's a better picture: (this is the GTS, not the GTS-R, but you get the idea.)

For those lamenting the red strip on these wheels I don't see it as a big deal. Simply have a wheel repair shop paint them out, or do it yourself, shouldn't be too big a job.

The extra expense and trouble make it less attractive compared to the alternatives - CSL reps, for example. I can't imagine doing it yourself with any degree of professionalism. To do it right you should strip/paint the entire wheel which is where the expense goes up. You could probably just take a magic marker or paint pen to the stripe, but that wouldn't hold up to either close scrutiny or over time.

+1

I don't really want to modify my new wheels. Painting is not my forte, and I don't have any trusted shops close by.

Seriously though, it would only take 3 miles for the brake dust to turn the stripe black.

Also, its rather difficult to paint behind the spokes, if the groove was on the outter edge it would be simple.

Thought I would paint the calipers red too...any thoughts there with the red timeline on the wheels...too much....??

Let's just say that not every single person hates the red stripe (though I do). Given that, I think we are all waiting for Gill to get a set and mount them on his 1 and show us what they really look like. Maybe it's not as bad as I expect it to be. Red calipers would be the only thing on an SMG that might relate to the red stripe. Aside from that, however, I think blue calipers would go better with SMG. Assuming that the Breytons in the pict I posted above are black, I think they look pretty nice with SMG. Apparently, you just can't get them that way for the 1- sigh.

On the right car the red stripe looks great. I just don't think that it will look good on the 1er or any BMW for that matter. The red stripe is more of a JDM kind of look. I think that the red stripe would have looked great on my S2000:iono:
